What to wear for a bbq when the weather is warm but likely to chuck it down?!?

I have dresses, jeans, tops, trainers, sandals.... but never know what to wear, especially when weather so unsettled!!

Saying that, even if weather was playing nice I'm still rubbish at knowing what I like/what I look okay in.

What would you be wearing for a friends bbq tomorrow??

Short playsuit & leather trainers and take a little waterproof jacket with a hood

I would wear a summer dress or skirt but a long one, not short

As little as possible. Skin dries quicker than clothes. Definitely not denim. I'd go bare legs for sure.

I’m guessing you’ll go indoors if it’s raining so I’d go for wide leg trousers and a slim fitting top or a casual dress with flat sandals.

Prescottdanni123 · 15/07/2023 16:53

Will there not be an option to go indoors when it starts raining?

The boots-leggings-dress-hooded jacket combo is my go to for what you're describing.

You can wear a light and jolly dress as a nod to "summer party" but the leggings, boots and jacket will keep you dry.

Would advise against bare legs - consider whether you'd prefer muddy legs or muddy leggings.
