Vinted InPost locker

Hi,

Is it possible to extend the timeframe to collect a parcel from an InPost locker? I bought an item on Vinted and it's been posted already, which is great - but I think I'm going to be away when it arrives and worried I'll miss the three day timeframe to collect it. I have the InPost app but can't see anything about extending the collection period.

Thanks all

Unfortunately it doesn't look like it's possible https://inpost.co.uk/terms-of-service/ can you get someone else to pick up for you?

PinkFootstool · 12/07/2023 09:07

No, you'll need to get someone else to go for you..

You can also turn off Inpost lockers as an option when you sell on case people reading are wondering! I only offer Evri or Yodel, not Royal Mail or Inpost.

I’m in the same position and I’m hoping it comes before I go away. I haven’t bought anything before from Vinted before do I just get sent a code to open the locker.

Why don't you use Royal Mail? I've just starting uploading items to sell.

Thanks

Ok thanks all, hopefully I'll be around to pick it up but will get someone else to do it on my behalf if not x

For the poster asking if they get sent a code - yes you do. A QR code that you just scan at the locker and the door pops open. It's really easy - but remember you only get three days to collect!!

@Fiddie I do offer Royal Mail - but it's not often chosen as an option by buyers. Usually more expensive, and not as convenient, and don't always offer a signed for/tracking option at the same cost as the others. Evri is the easiest for me (large collection/drop off point near me), InPost one of the worst (very small drop off/collection point that is almost always out of lockers). But selling on Vinted has been brilliant - and I have made about £350 over the last year, selling off things that don't fit/never fitted, and collections of toys that the teenager no longer wants.

@Fiddie because RM don't do proof of delivery for 2nd class mail so if there's a dispute about delivery there's no photo to fall back on.

I don't do InPost because my nearest drop off point requires me to pay £2.60 to cross the Tamar Bridge plus the costs of fuel / 20min round trip to drive there. I can walk to drop off Evri and Yodel parcels.
