Has anyone bought this and found it worked? Debating buying it in the sale. I have frizzy, thick curly hair so would love a brush to use instead of straightening my hair daily

I'm having the same quandary. To be fair I almost bought the Duet though so I figure this is a fraction of the cost. I usually leave my hair to air dry through laziness so it would be handy to take it a bit after it's dried naturally.

Chichix · 11/07/2023 19:43

I loveeeeee mine!

pjswashingline · 11/07/2023 19:46

I've bought it! I really hope it's not going to be added to all the other styling gadgets I've got in the loft!

Sorry didn't work for my hair. Sold it on.
I have thick, dry highlighted frizz prone hair

whoknows2 · 11/07/2023 19:51

I was really disappointed, more work than straightening. Sitting in a drawer now

FortyFacedFuckers · 11/07/2023 19:52

I was just debating this too, so interested to see the consensus.

Jongleterre · 11/07/2023 19:58

ghd Glide Hot Brush - that one?

I was looking at it for myself and buying for a couple of older relatives who like me find some hair gadgets a bit cumbersome and don't want that awful poker straight hair look but like to look polished!

The Amazon reviews are fairly good.

Jongleterre · 11/07/2023 20:08

I've found the other one in Argos to read the details and reviews.

I've hit loads of hair and it's very long so this actually looks a better shape and deeper bristles.

Still not sure though!

Are you talking about the glide? If so I absolutely love mine. It's been a game changer for me. It's amazing for day 2 or 3 hair. I swear it's better for me than my Dyson air wrap. I have dry thin horrible hair if that helps .

pjswashingline · 11/07/2023 20:16

Mixed reviews so far.

It is the glide one. I like my hair with some thickness but no frizz and find straightening it makes it quite flat so maybe it will be fine for my hair.

The black one just jumped from £102 to £159 in my basket on Amazon!

pjswashingline · 11/07/2023 20:45

The bronze one is £112

The glide never worked really for me. I can use it to help finish off or top up.

The dust also hasn't worked well for me. It's such hard work and def not worth the money.

I've just reinvested in another pair of Cloud 9 straighteners as they're so good

The Revlon One-Step is good for this, and is a lot cheaper than the GHD. I bought it after a recommendation on here & love it.

Thanks that's helpful you've saved me from two big purchases 😁

WhereAreWeNow · 12/07/2023 09:37

I love the GHD glide. It tames my frizzy hair and makes it smoother without making it flat.

Jongleterre · 13/07/2023 14:52

@Sammysquiz

This is only £22

I've ordered it and if I get on well with it I will buy one of the dearer options as reviews on all different brands mention some users finding them heavy.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 13/07/2023 16:42

I have the GHD Glide and absolutely hate it. I find it very heavy and hard to use, I have very thick hair and it doesn't 'glide' through it! Worst hair buy ever for me.

SpainToday · 13/07/2023 16:46

I love my GHD Glide, I have thick straight-ish hair and it’s great for finishing off, less severe than straighteners. But I bought it on eBay for £35

Jongleterre · 13/07/2023 17:51

@LifeInAHamsterWheel that's what puts me off as I have very thick hair and the brush might not penetrate through it.

Orangeslemon · 13/07/2023 18:16

I have very thick hair and it didn't work well for me – I don’t mind whether my hair is straight or not but it just didn’t smooth it down enough. I use the wide plate Cloud 9 straighteners now. I’d like to sell my Glide but I haven’t been able to find a way to clean it as I can’t get between the bristles!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 13/07/2023 23:06

@Jongleterre I have to do mine in sections but I find the brush clunky to use and it pulls on my hair it definitely doesn't glide through it! I wish I'd been able to borrow one first because I never would've bought it if I'd tried it beforehand!

newfriend05 · 13/07/2023 23:28

Mines sitting in the draw waste of time ..however I've got the Revlon one step ...absolute game changer

pjswashingline · 14/07/2023 16:42

I am loving mine! I was expecting it to be rubbish after seeing the posts here but it's really good. It doesn't pull, it does glide which is surprising as my hair is so thick and frizzy! Leaves it really shiny and smooth. The shorts layers were a bit more challenging to do but overall I'm really impressed
