Looking for a maxi dress

Should be easy right? Seemingly not. I’m looking for a proper floor grazing strappy maxi with a beachy and/or ethereal vibe. I’m 5’6, size 10, small boobs so bra not an issue but also want them relatively secure/covered. Not polyester!!
I suit bright cool toned colours
budget up to £100
Can you help?

Is it for the beach? Or just that vibe?

Following!

Just that vibe, relaxed dinner in the evening at a resort

Have you tried Vinted? That boho style dress was very fashionable a few years ago and someone might be having a clear out. I get a lot of clothes there and the fabric is much better quality than the polyester rubbish you get now.

Thinkle · 05/07/2023 20:00

@Candleabra i haven’t, I’ve been out of my threads in here about problems but I’ll have a look.
thanks for the suggestions @Niftythrifter but I definitely suit brights better. Im intrigued by your second option, I love an unusual design, but where does the third strap go?!

OP - you can just about see in the photo with model two straps go over one shoulder. Not sure it does much particularly 😁

I got this Joe Browns dress a few weeks ago. I wear it with no bra.

I've just been looking at this on Mint Velvet. Gorgeous but how on earth to contain ones norks I'm not so sure ...

The nork conundrum is probably why it's reduced! The model isn't moving from her slouchy sitting by the wall position.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 06/07/2023 11:55

Grin I guess if I copy that I've already adopted my "bit pissed so I'm just going to have a little sit down " position, like I did in my twenties. I'd get a numb bum but hey ho!

TheOrigRights · 06/07/2023 12:20

Yeah, it wouldn't hold up to needing to wrestle a reluctant toddler into a supermarket trolley seat or checking the tyre pressure on the car - or anything other than evocative draping.

CaveMum · 06/07/2023 12:45

I bought several Boden summer maxi dresses second hand (Vinted/EBay) for my summer holiday last year. Good quality (weighty fabric) and great fit.

Ooh I love that. Good choice.
