What colour is your bikini?

I bought myself a lovely black bikini, but have been told that black bikinis are really strange. Is this true? The shops seem to disagree.

So! What colour / pattern is yours?

Bright red

Dark navy with white polka dots.

Both sets are Panache and very well engineered for my big cup size. The red is my favourite.

Mine is black too. Fairly standard on holidays that I've been on. Which fashion guru told you that they are really strange?

Who is this person defining strange? I usually don't buy black because it's so common!

We're on a beach holiday right now. Mine are: 1) leopard pattern, 2) tropical floral, 3) navy stripes. My daughter's bikinis (she's 16) are two floral and one black. I find black impractical in hot weather because it absorbs the heat but there are plenty of young ladies here on the beach wearing black and not giving a toss what I think It looks great on them!

@canyon2000 the fashion guru in question is my DP, apparently I am the only woman he has ever seen wearing a black swimsuit at the beach!! I suspected that this was bullshit, and you all have just confirmed.

But also these all sound great, I definitely have room in the suitcase for one more... last minute saturday shopping it is. 😁

Mine are black, red and one patterned one that is my spare. I think plain coloured bikinis look better on me.

I think black bikinis are the best option at the beginning of a holiday without a tan as it looks good on my normal skin colour. Then, when I am browner I switch to red, which is my favourite, but I look better in it with a tan. Black is a very common swimsuit colour!

Why would it be strange?! I have binikis in loads of colours just because I love bikinis but black definitely isn't strange. In fact, on holiday in south of France last year I noticed that all the gorgeous, bronzed French women were in plain black bikinis. They all looked effortlessly amazing.

I have loads, I love bikinis, and that includes one black one and a black and white one. My favourite one is bright turquoise though as it looks amazing next to a tan

I've got a lot of bikinis (don't know why, it's years since I've been on that kind of holiday). I have one plain black one, two that are black with coloured trims, a green and white spotty one and one other patterned one.

Burnt Sienna, russet type colour.

I have so many bikinis, most are brights blues and oranges patterns but I have a few black ones, surely they are a staple?
