Strapless bra recommendations for size 38E

Just that really!

I need a really sturdy bra that does the job. I know I can’t buy a £12 Primark bra and expect it to work properly haha. Where have others purchased a strapless bra from if you’re a size E or bigger.

Thank you:)

I’ve had a reduction but I can save you the hassle of looking.

none.

they are never comfortable and never support.

The curvy Kate one, I can't remember it's name. Have a look at fullerbustinspo on Instagram!

Bravissimo usually but I hate all strapless bras because I have to have them so tight to hold them up. I've worn strapless bra corsets in the past.

AnnaMagnani · 04/07/2023 11:10

Firstly don't get your hopes up, one that fits and works will not be comfortable.

Secondly there is no substitute for fitting. You will probably be a different size in strapless to normal, and without the straps the shape of the cups for your personal boobs becomes important.

Go to a Bravissimo, be prepared to try on a lot of bras and then not be that enthused about the final result.

I'll be the first to ask this - what is your dress size and is your under bust measurement actually 38 inches?
The support is in the band, so if you are wearing a bigger band size than you measure you will never get the support you need.

This. No point at your size. I've tried many over the years and they don't work.

My size costs £65!

I’m really only looking to wear a strapless bra once for a dress I need to wear this weekend. If all else fails, I’ll wear a normal bra and put the straps down a bit so at least there’s some support😂🫣

In a bra 80% of the support should come from the band and 20% or less from the straps.

So your band absolutely needs to be tight in a strapless.

Is your underboob measurement 38 or is it more than that? If more, you will be getting no support at all.

tacomaco · 04/07/2023 12:36

I am a 34ff and I can confirm none. I can’t get any offering me any shape or support at my size. Tried for an up coming dinner I am going to.

bookish83 · 04/07/2023 12:38

Fantasie at John Lewis. Never tried the strapless version but the everyday bras are good for this size

I was going to ask this too. Get a tape measure and pull it taught under your bust and see what it's measuring (don't add on any inches).

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 04/07/2023 13:36

The Gossard Wonderbra strapless one is supportive and works under most clothes (I'm a 30G) but it's not comfortable. I tend to agree that they can be one or the other but not both!

Lozois99 · 06/07/2023 10:11

I have one of these too and I can confirm it really does the job. It's not uncomfortable either. Am 38FF but I got an E cup as the reviews suggested to size down a cup and they were right

Bananasinpjamas4567 · 06/07/2023 11:15

I would love the answer to this too! I am 36GG and it seems impossible!
