John Lewis gift card

If you had £80 on a John Lewis beauty gift card, how would you spend it?

I usually just buy standard make up brands from Boots - Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara, L'Oréal foundation, etc.

What have I been missing out on?

Ooh I’d buy Clarins Hand and Nail cream and a big bottle of Eau Dynamisante.

A lovely hand cream would be on the list, but my hands are so dry, cracked, and sore, that I think it would be a waste! I need to sort them out with something else first.

A giant bottle of La Vie est belle so I had an amazing scent for a year.

Is there anything you're specifically after? E.g. makeup, foundation, skincare etc?

They have so many brands now that it'll be really easy to spend!

If it was make up, I'd buy myself Laura Mercier Eye Caviar sticks (they are so easy to apply, last all day, I use Amethyst or Rose Gold) and their translucent powder. A Mad Eyes Guerlain Mascara. Or I'd put it towards a big bottle of Philosykos. Hope you have fun spending it!

Jo Malone for perfume.

Nars, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown for make up.

Elemis, Liz Earle, Kiehls for skincare.

I recently converted my accumulated cash back into John Lewis vouchers. I bought Dior lip sugar scrub which has sorted out my dry flaky lips amazingly well, Dior nail glow which I’m less impressed with tbh, a Floral Street Lady Emma candle which smells beautiful and a big tub of Elemis cleansing balm which I’ve used for years and haven’t found a better alternative for. Happy shopping, I loved spending on treats totally guilt free!

Thank you!

I've stuck a Khiels hand cream in my basket as the reviews changed my mind.

I've never found a mascara that works better for me than False Lash Effect, and I don't wear foundation often enough to splurge on that. I could do with finding a miracle under eye concealer though? I wear that every day.

Would be nice to buy a more luxurious moisturiser than Nivea too! Anything to encourage a good skin care routine actually.

I love Ren skincare (especially their Evercalm range) but they tend to do better offers on their own website TBH. Liz Earle and Kiehls would have decent skincare I think.

The Armani Luminous Silk foundation is amazing, not sure about their concealers however! Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown and Nars will probably be good at concealers generally.

Enjoy your splurge!!

Philosykos 😍😍😍😍

The Kiehls hand cream is the best! Don't forget JL do nice hair care brands too

doingmyboxin · 03/07/2023 20:32

Any more recommendations for an under eye concealer?

I don't really use any products on my hair, other than my highlights. I definitely need to prioritise my face for investment, sadly Grin
