I know I am not on trend with this but I have a couple of sporting events which will involve lots of walking.. what are the best comfy sneaker types that will look okay with a dress?

I've just bought some Adidas Hoops Mids in the sale on the Adidas website. They're fabulous and were such a bargain at £36. Love the leopard accent too - I'm over leopard generally but this much is fine! I need lots of ankle support as I have RA and these provide it. Always half-size up with Adidas though, they always come up small.

No, they have memory foam insoles, but there doesn’t seem to be any additional support in the arch area.

Thanks, they're really cute, I especially love the corduroy patchwork ones :)

I love my adidas nizza’s they’re all white. They are quite flat though if you were after some support but I find them very comfortable and go with everything

I wear Hotter white leather trainers - super comfy.

I’ve got these from M&S. I bought them after I tried some New Balance, which were really uncomfortable, and they are so comfortable. I hardly ever have them off my feet. I feel like buying another pair for when this pair are worn out.

I love these but the website is horrendous - very slow and keeps putting my neighbours address in, when I click on mine 😠

I heard Marks do really good white trainers. I have not ventured to get any yet but they look good. I tend to wear white sketchers and live in my trainers. I even wear trainers and dresses for work.

Branleuse · 05/07/2023 22:53

My comfiest trainers to walk in are adidas forum low, and nike air force 1.
I think they go with anything casual

LakeFlyPie · 05/07/2023 22:59

How about these?

Ohmylovejune · 07/07/2023 14:56

I bought some sketchers GoWalk from M and M direct for Wimbledon last year. Really comfy like memory foam and white was perfect with my dress.

I've worn them so much I even washed them in the machine, and they came out great. So I've bought them in black now, too!

Personally I love Nike Air Force 1
they have a million colour combos and you can get very cute ones from the junior section with lots of metallics.
can get plenty on Vinted too.

if you looking for a simpler style, and your shoe size is bigger than 6, I’d go for the men section as they have even more padding and I find them way more comfy..

They've got some great discounts in the Office sale at the moment - lots of trainer brands on sale. Particularly good if you don't mind being a season behind!

If you like Superga with a dress there's lots of colours to choose from so you can create a nice match or a contrast of colour.

Ebay's worth a look sometimes so save a bit on branded trainers and sneakers.

This thread is useful as I'm looking for something comfy for walking that looks good for summer too.

Last year I returned several pairs of white pumps including the ones kate Middleton wears (can't remember name) superdry plain white pumps, practically invisible logo, purchased via Next. Living in them. Utterly fab.

Wonderwhyibother · 07/07/2023 19:24

Skechers, swear by them. They have all different styles now in a variety of colours, memory foam insoles. I used to live in them when I was a barmaid and did 12 hour shifts 6 days a week. The handful of times I didn't wear them I would be crippled by the end of my shift.

adventureswithashleyandco · 07/07/2023 19:36

I recently bought my daughter some offbrand converse from New Look. Indistinguishable from the originals, would recommend x

Gonners · 07/07/2023 19:41

Another vote for Hotter here. I spent up a storm in their sale this morning - two pairs of smart-ish trainer type shoes, plus some sandals, all with proper arch-support and the right fitting for me. Wore one pair for a walk this afternoon and they are so comfortable. Not particularly cheap, even in the sale, but they last forever.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 07/07/2023 19:48

I have a pair of these Puma tennis shoes. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever never worn, I can walk miles in them, and wear them with everything! Including work clothes.

wendyjoy · 07/07/2023 21:41

Definitely Skechers.. loads of styles. Comfiest footwear ever.

Mirabai · 07/07/2023 22:00

The coloured ones are in the sale ^^
