One ear lobe/piercing

Hi, recently my one ear lobe keeps closing and when I wear earrings it pains (tbh historically this ear lobe has been a pain in the neck). The other ear lobe is totally fine. What can I do?

I got some mejuri gold vermeil earrings, tried them on but it's too painful! Wondering whether I need to return ...

Maybe stick a surgical steel stud in and treat it as if newly pierced for the next 6 weeks to see if it will fully heal. Maybe it’s some sort of allergy? I can only wear one type of metal or else it gets painful, starts scabbing & oozing. My ears have been pierced for 40 years & it’s always been like this.
