Sucker for a little red tab

Anyone else finds that these are plenty of great quality jeans but there is something about Levi’s red tab that makes them so cool?

I am about to pay twice the price for a pair of denim shorts from Levi’s than an almost identical from Mango, just to have the red tab. Please put me right 😂

Nope. I am am so not brand aware or loyal. I just want my jeans to fit well and be comfortable.

I do somewhat agree. Levi's are, on the whole, well made and update classic styles for modern trends So that is part of the appeal. But I can't deny there's something intangible that I prefer about them over any other jeans. So I guess it's the impact of marketing 🤔 I usually hunt out 2nd hand as there's loads, but I recently fell in love with a new style but found them half price on ASOS

Levi's are nostalgia for me. That's the pull.

Be crazy if you want to.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 30/06/2023 07:46

Yep I love Levi's, I don't think it is just the red tab, it is the styles, the fabric, the cut, and the details. Many others don't look as good.

RampantIvy · 30/06/2023 08:18

That said I do like Levis, and they are always such good quality.

i do like Levi’s and own a number of their denim skirts that I have bought from charity shops. What I like is their sizing system where you aren’t stuck with being a 6,8,10 and that in effect you can be an 11,13 and 17 effectively which I think could be quite handy for some people. I know that my cropped 501s and new denim mini both bought from the outlet ( skirt is from the main line of stores) are both in effect sizes outside of the main stream sizing spectrum of 6,8 and 10 etc.

I’d buy the Red Tabs over Mango any day, and give no fucks about it. It’s your money, do what you like. Some brands are worth it for some people and that’s fine.

CindersAgain · 30/06/2023 08:45

Can we see the shorts? ☺️

dontgobaconmyheart · 30/06/2023 10:58

I think if that's how you feel that's fine, it's your own money so (like with anything) spend it on what brings you joy.

I'm not massively fussed on Levis over any other denim personally but equally almost never wear denim shorts so wouldn't be willing to spend more on them that basis whatever the situation.

Get them and enjoy them!

onlymyselftoanswerto1 · 30/06/2023 11:27

I love Levi's! I buy loads of them on Vinted or eBay for a steal

Niftythrifter · 30/06/2023 13:20

I actually was lucky in that I found the mini skirt at a cheaper price than the Mango one that I had mouth and it was in a more classic wash. I am not a jeans snob at all in that I have jeans from Primark and other high street labels but do question why some high street labels charge more for denim than a well established denim brand like Levi’s.

Niftythrifter · 30/06/2023 13:30

Mouth?!!found!

AuntieMarys · 30/06/2023 13:38

Levis last me years and are worn regularly. Other brands don't. Price per wear for me

uncomfortablydumb53 · 30/06/2023 15:51

I love Levi 501's They suit me perfectly and are high enough rise to contain my menopausal stomach
I've actually bought a pair worn once for £20 in 28 leg which is not easy to find from Vinted

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 01/07/2023 18:02

Another Levi’s lover here. I’m a 10/12 and like that I can get an “11”. I just bought some baggy dad jeans to add to my collection.
