Advice with my nails!

Hi all

I am getting better at not biting my nails but even when they grow a bit they peel and chip, I take multi vitamins. If I'm going out I'll stick false nails on then they will come off by the evening when gardening or washing up haha, so instead I want to invest in a nail varnish etc I don't mind having shorter nails just as long as they look half decent. Does anyone have any recommendations of nail polish that's reletavley long lasting? A gel kind, also something I can add on top to make them harder and stronger, I have googled so much there's just to many products and different opinions so I'd rather go with a tried and tested recommendation

Thank you

I was a nail biter. I now go to a nail lady who uses a builder in a bottle and then gel. It's far, it's so hard you can't bite your nails!

Me too like poster above. It's very difficult to do problem nails yourself.

You’d be better off using regular oil and warm oil soaks to strengthen and give them flexibility. The Salon Life on YouTube has some great free advice. Builder in a bottle wrecked my nails!

I had nails that peel and spilt and after following her advice, they’re now healthy and strong. I currently just use Dior Nail Glow with a Chanel Base (though you can get decent dupes at cheaper prices). I always have a couple of days off each week where I’ll do some more soaks and a manicure.

The thing that's made the most difference to my nails is to only use a glass nail file. I use one from Leighton Denny and it's very gentle and sort of seals the ends. Before buying it, every single one of my nails was flaking and peeling and now they are all fine.

I always use OPI nail envy and they have a really good range of colours.

I use the Mylee brand their builder gel works well for me either by itself or with bright varnish. They do some tinted builder gels which give you a subtle change, less coats so quicker.

It is PITA to get off though and you can cause serious damage to your nails until you get the technique right.
