I am in the very fortunate position of going on a summer holiday this year and I have £60 max to spend on a nice summery perfume. What would you recommend? Please please no coconut.

Anyone got any ideas for a really lemony one? I loved the D&G limited edition amalfi lemon blue that was out about five years ago.

I walked past a lady a few eeks ago and she smelt delicious ( if I can say that 😂 )she was wearing two scents.

Choco musk found on amazon
Body spray sol de janerio bc 62

The first one smells like chocolate but not cloying and the second one has this review on Boots.

FRAGRANCE NOTES
TOP: pistachio, almond
MID: heliotrope, jasmine petals
DRY: vanilla, salted caramel, sandalwood

I find those sol de Janeiro ones a little over powering but then my experience is of my DSCs using them and they may over spray

I like Rodriguez For Her perfume. There is a Burberry one I like (although I doubt it is still available).

Augend23 · 27/06/2023 20:53

I like Fragonard perfumes, I have multiple different ones but they are all gorgeous.

hartof · 27/06/2023 20:54

Pack Rabanne Fame, bought it for last years holiday and it's SO nice! Always get compliments and it smells like summer

Eau d'Hadrien is the lemon IMO. Ultimate citrus fresh, with a tiny hint of pepper in the drydown.

Ô de Lancome is also a lemon, but a more powdery and sweet one.

4160 Tuesdays do several lemons but I've only got the sherbet one. Like many of their fragrances it's very sweet.

Mary Greenwell did Lemon but I think it's discontinued. That's a chypre lemon and much longer lasting as a result.

organicapricot · 27/06/2023 21:01

It's a cheaper one but I got the nivea perfumes for my recent holiday. They smell fab and the summer one was perfect holiday vibes. The smell doesn't last ages but they are cheaper than a big brand one so can reapply.

aperolspritzbasicbitch · 27/06/2023 21:02

D&G light blue is just holiday in a perfume to me

Orban · 27/06/2023 21:03

Elizabeth Arden 5th avenue is nice and fresh too.

Or flowers by kenzo. I end up buying that every other summer because it's on offer somewhere and whenever I do I think god I really like this.

Try Atelier Cologne’s Lemon Island, a lemony jasmine.

TattiePants · 27/06/2023 21:05

Jil Sander Sun is a lovely summery fragrance. I blind bought as it’s so cheap.

AgentProvocateur · 27/06/2023 21:25

Thanks @TattiePants and @WhenIWasAFieldMyself - I’ve taken a note of your suggestions.

JaninaDuszejko · 27/06/2023 21:25

At the moment I'm wearing the following:
Elizabeth Arden Green Tea
Atelier Cologne Pomélo Paradis (Very orangy, I also like this in the winter!)
Miller Harris Fleurs de Sel (Herby)
Miller Harris Rose Silence (a very pure and simple rose so no good for @veryfluffyfluff)
Fleur d'Oranger Baie Rose (orange blossom, best in very hot weather when it opens out a lot)
Guerlain Herba Fresca (minty fresh)
Pierre Guillaume Bois Naufrage (figgy)
Roget et Gallet Gingembre (gingery)
CKone (lovely clean chypre)
Yardley April Violets

Quite a range of prices there. I keep meaning to buy Nina Ricci L'Air du Temps which is another clean perfume that would work in summer.

JaninaDuszejko · 27/06/2023 21:27

Also forgot Oscar de la Renta Live in Love which is green and white flowers.

AnotherDayAnotherUsernameForMeAgain · 27/06/2023 21:33

Jo Malone Grapefruit or Earl Grey & cucumber

mdinbc · 27/06/2023 21:34

I also concur with recommendations for O de Lancome or Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. Her White Tea lineup is also very nice. I think there are now 4 varieties. It's my go-to daytime fragrance.

Pigeon31 · 27/06/2023 22:09

Light Blue

Ah i liked flowers too.

I think I've possibly already found my summer scent then I just need to revisit my favorite perfumes of my past!!

Some of these perfumes sound lovely I'm making a list of ones to look out for.

GettingStuffed · 28/06/2023 09:25

Versace red jeans it just screams summer to me

Totally agree, I have tried many others but always come back to this for summer days.
Fleur music by Rodriguez for summer evenings.

Me too! Definitely planning some purchases.

Housewife2010 · 28/06/2023 11:06

These are some of my summer favourites:
Clarins Eau Dynamisante - fabulous summer classic - I've worn it for over 30 years. The matching body lotion is gorgeously cooling on hot skin.
Penhaligons Castile - clean fresh orange blossom and soap
Miller Harris Dance amongst the Lace - citrus floral and beautiful. MH sale on now too.
Sisley Izia - my new summer discovery. An efferevescent rose
Miller Harris Tea Tonique ( the spray rather than the oil) - so refreshing. Perfect for a heatwave
Jo Malone Grapefruit or Basil & Neroli - both very fresh and work well with Wood Sage & Seasaly too.
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Herbs Fresca (to me it's the scent of a damp spring garden)

I have O de Lancome but find it has no longevity for me. I know that citrus scents can be more fleeting, but was disappointed by its staying power

LoobyDop · 28/06/2023 12:45

Current favourite is Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. I also like Armani Code for summer.

Used to love Fidji. And a Giorgio Beverly Hills one in a cloudy aqua bottle, can’t remember what it was called. Ocean Drive, maybe.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 28/06/2023 12:48

This summer I'm wearing a lot of

Aerin - Waterlily sun which is green and lemony and bergamotty

Aerin - Mediterranean Honeysuckle - virus opening followed by warm honeysuckle

Hermes - Un Jardin sur le Nil ;big green mango opening with a lovely dry down

Guerlain - Aqua Allegorica Mandarine Basilic. Doesn't last a huge amount of time but such a beautiful clean smell. Does what it says on the tin

Pack Rabanne - Olympea. A recent convert to this one because it goes through so many changes on my skin from an intitial gingery jasmine blast through a salty aquatic note to a smooth vanilla.

Byredo - Sundazed. Huge neroli top note and even more lovely when it settles down.
