Backless / low backs / cut outs on dresses

Does this annoy anyone else? Seems to be a trend over the past few years. Lovely looking dress but a back that is totally unpractical for day to day when you have to apply sunscreen. Do people not bother or am I missing a trick in application? I can just back of my neck and the top of my back but that's it. I have seen applicator tools but they don't look very reliable.

Could you just avoid sitting in the sun? I wear loads of backless/cut out styles and it isn’t really a problem I have to admit…

Erm not easily. I go on a daily walk for an hour or over. Can't guarantee shade. I've blonde hair and do burn.

Maybe fancier dresses are designed to be just for evening wear?

I don't mind it on evening dresses where it's just another style of dress. I think cut out backs look ridiculous on day dresses.

It's not so much the sun that bothers me, it's the bra showing.

sun doesn't bother me but how many women are really comfortable going braless?

It's really annoying for those of us who couldn't go bra-less. Too many perfectly nice dresses spoilt by this recently.

I can't do braless easily either as I've had a mastectomy so I'd look pretty lopsided!😂

I can do braless - it's just that often the cut out just looks daft and spoils the dress.

Yeah backless is a no for me too.

I think they look really nice but I just don't know what you're supposed to do with your boobs.

I'm suspicious of those stick on cups because I'm an E. I just can't see how they're going to have the required scaffolding.

Arghh I hate any of these things where chunks are cut out, they ruin what would otherwise have been a lovely dress!

I go braless a fair bit. I love backless things on a night out. But I'm not blessed in the boobs department, so I guess it's easier for me.
