Comfy sandals needed

I have a few pairs of saltwater sandals which I normally love but have found making my feet sore due to being so flat. I'd love a pair of DMs after trying on a friend's but can't stretch to the £££.

Can anyone recommend a chunkier pair that are comfy?

Fit flop are good

continentallentil · 25/06/2023 11:01

DMs are v flat so I don’t think they’d suit you?

Bemyclementine · 25/06/2023 11:05

The saltwater have a very thin flat sole, the DMs were much more padded/comfortable. Yes flat but far more supportive. I will have a look at fit flop, thanks, hadn't considered those.

I also like fit flop, teva are very comfy but not terribly attractive. My friend has barbours which are lovely and comfy but they are from 2 years ago and they don't seem to do that style anymore.

Fleur405 · 25/06/2023 11:08

I have the saltwater boardwalk I think they are called. Not quite as stylish as the standard flat ones but very comfy.

Bemyclementine · 25/06/2023 11:31

I can't see anything I even remotely like on Fitflop!

I did consider those @Fleur405 but already having several pairs of the original sort, I fancy a change.

I've bought a pair of the newer 'swimmer' saltwaters with a thicker, spongy sole. I had to stop wearing the original ones because they were so flat I was damaging my joints. These ones are brilliant though and I'm back to wearing them all day every day!

I've just seen your update - not for you then... Smile

Same. They're so comfy!

I've found Decathlon ones very confortable.

These are amazing. I alternate them with the flat salt waters. Just wish they'd change the sole colour!

Fleur405 · 25/06/2023 12:04

@crackfoxy agreed!

Bemyclementine · 25/06/2023 12:23

Hmm I do live in saltwater in the summer. Maybe I should consider them. I definitely need more cushioning, I've really noticed it thus year but never before.

Hotter tourist sandals are amazing, I have them in gold. Extremely comfy.

criminallyvulgar · 25/06/2023 17:19

I agree with @netto about Fitflop Lulu. I have two pairs and they are the most comfortable sandals I ever owned. Had a week in Rome over half term and took a pair of these and a pair of original saltwater and literally never wore the saltwater as they just didn't compare. Expensive but there is usually a 15% discount code somewhere.

alloutofcareunits · 25/06/2023 17:26

I have some Dr Marten sandals, I agree they're pricey as I paid about £90 for mine but they are so comfortable! Plenty of arch support and soft bouncy soles, mine are on their second year of almost daily wear over the summer months so price per wear I think they're good value, mine are like new. Maybe there are some on Vinted?

Bemyclementine · 25/06/2023 17:46

@alloutofcareunits I saw a perfect pair on vinted for £50, the ones with the crossed straps at the front. Favourited them, they sold approx 2milliseconds later

I really don't like the hotter or fitflops suggested, theyre "ok" but not something I'd ever choose.

I've got these from next. They're really comfy and look a bit like the DM ones I've coveted the past few years but can't afford. www.next.co.uk/g75576s3/c92045#c92045

WeightoftheWorld · 25/06/2023 18:30

Teva! I did a thread like this last year and bought some after lots of recs here and love them! Honestly don't think I would buy any other brand now, they're my sandal holy grail. I bought another pair for work this year too.

Bemyclementine · 25/06/2023 19:52

I like the Clarks ones, but they're the same price as the DMs.

The next ones are nice @lookslikeabombhitit ! I might give those a try thank you.

@WeightoftheWorld which team ones?I always thought they were walking sandals.

Clarks Orinoco which are £65 but looks like other websites have them for £55. Very comfortable.

I just have the original ones. I have them in multicoloured for outside of work and bought plain black ones for work. The dress code at my work is pretty relaxed though and I'm not customer facing or anything, I wouldn't have worn them in some other offices I've worked in with more formal dress codes. They're soo comfy.

These are the ones I have but mine are white. My ankles are quite chunky so I avoid ankle straps
