Do you wear them instead of knickers? Or on top of knickers?

Depends on the style, some like sloggis or M&S are a little thicker so feel safe to wear as pants and they tend to have a proper crotch but snags really are tights, minimal crotch part so I always wear pants under them.

The Sainsbury's ones have a crotch so I just wear them as pants. Surprised that the more expensive brands don't.

Depends. Recently bought a thin pair from H&M, definitely need knickers as very see through. Then bought a 4 pack of women's boxers with decent legs from amazon and they have a proper crotch so perfect as both.

I wear them over knickers. I bought some nice ones from Uniqlo recently.
