Tell me what I want from French pharmacy

I'm going for a short trip to Paris in a few weeks (very very excited). Is going to a pharmacy for skincare worth doing? If it is, what should I look for? Any help appreciated!

Honestly, you can get nearly all of it here for the same price or less. I love French pharmacy stuff. I buy La Roche Posay, Bioderma, and Vichy from Escentual.com or Boots.

Lactulose and 1000mg paracetamol (Doliprane). That's probably not what you had in mind Blush

Anjo2011 · 24/06/2023 22:34

Avene and Caudalie products.

I find that everything that you get here at the French pharmacy is the same price. I'd spend your time on going into a department store for clothes that you can't get here.

Doliprane if you have children. Suppository painkillers are the best

MargotBamborough · 24/06/2023 23:15

Doliprane suppositories and melatonin.

Is French Lactulose different to uk Lactulose?

LawksaMercyMissus · 25/06/2023 05:20

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads it's very cheap!

Biafine, I keep in case of mild sunburn.
There was also something I got recently which was the equivalent of bio oil but cheaper and pharmacist recommend over bio oil ( sorry can’t remember name). I love to browse and see what is on offer.

Non, non, non…🤗 if you buy things from a French pharmacy you are immediately more French! There is a special thing in having lotions and potions that have come from a pharmacy in France !

Twilightstarbright · 25/06/2023 06:46

Le petit Marseillaise shower gel, soaps and hand cream but they’re in the supermarket not the pharmacy.

cupidsabsolutepsyche · 25/06/2023 09:56

Thank you! The paracetamol, and other medications actually sound the most useful.
And I appear to have been given permission to go mad in a department store 😂
I've not done Paris properly before, it's a trip just me and my sister and shopping is definitely on the agenda.
Recommendations definitely required, in mid price bracket, along with anything gorgeous to the eyes

I ended up with some Avene face wash for DD 😂
But I did also discover a new Hermes perfume called Un Jardin a Cytheres in Galeries Lafayette, and bought it at duty free on the way home, it is absolutely gorgeous!
