hair makeover advice (with pics)

I'm in the doldrums with my hair. I used to have it cropped very short for years, which suited me as I run a lot and it was quick to wash and dry. I also used to box dye it for "fun" rather than grey coverage, but as the grey hairs multiplied I didn't like the maintenance of avoiding roots, which somehow looked worse on very short hair.

So I've grown it and stopped dying it, but my hair is very thick, coarse, and frizzy at the front.

I'm just not sure what to do with it now. Should I colour it again, and suck up the root regrowth maintenance? Should I crop it again? Highlight it? Something else?

You are at the tough stage of grow out. Once the grey is going my through the whole length it transforms. Only you will know if you are willing to go through this

The dye has actually fully grown out! It's been long (much longer than this) over the last few years, but I haven't had a hair cut since about Feb.

You don't have grey! The colour is beautiful.
I think keep the length but get a good layered hair cut to lose the triangle shape.
It looks like it may wave/curl - have you tried leaving to dry naturally whilst doing a bit of scrunching?

I liked both of those pictures, so you could do either and look great. It really is just what you fancy doing.
Maybe the hairdresser could help you with the condition of your hair, if you feel that's a problem, rather than colour it.

Colour looks fine in both pics. Condition wise, i've had to start buying decent/salon grade products since i've been peri. I buy olaplex 4, 5 and 6. It's pricey, but my hair has never been in better condition.

A little layering and embrace it's wave?

darkmodeon · 24/06/2023 14:06

You need weight taken out of it so layers
