How often do you buy yourself something?

I’m talking about something you don’t actually need.

Maybe clothing, jewellery, toiletries that aren’t really necessary, make-up, perfume etc etc.

I find myself online shopping waaaay too
often, and above are some of the types of things I buy myself. Tbh I feel awful about how much I’ve wasted and spent.

Monthly maybe around pay day? Sometimes a couple of things but I very rarely spend more than £50
This month I've bought
Cult beauty perfume edit
Aldi body cream (sol de janeiro dupe)
Aldi face mask (summer Fridays dupe)
Shampoo and conditioner (postage price only offer)

Once a month. I'm really trying at the moment as I realised how much I was wasting.

It's rare that I buy anything expensive but I do buy little treats - a new lipstick or a top etc.
And I will pay for things like haircuts.
I think it's important to look after yourself - obviously people have to budget and not spend the bills money on luxuries, but I think lots of women prioritise the kids and never spend on lively things for themselves, even when they could afford to.

I had coffee with a friend once and was admiring something nice in a shop that was a couple of hundred pounds and was thinking of buying it - she said that if she did that, her husband would make her take it back! They have a nicer house than me ( which is probably where their money goes) but bloody hell, that's a joyless life. My husband would never resent me treating myself to something I really wanted.

Regular purchase has gone up since I discovered vinted. I'm trying to reduce to once a month. At actual shops and online it's irregular, sometimes months go buy other times I'll buy 3 things in one month. It is rarely based on need.

I do a Shein order practially ever month.

Whether its household items, crafting supplies, new knickers or just a nice dress. I figure the few hundred saved on booze (sober 4 years) is better spent on things that make me look/feel nice :) I also spend a ridiculous amount on travel compared to most people. Would much rather spend £100 on a return flight to a European city for a long weekend than pi$$ is up against the wall and have nothing but a hangover to show for it.

Normally, once or twice a month.

This month - waaayyyy to often.
I'm on SMP as of next month so I'm making the most of one of the last full payslips for a while and buying myself autumn clothes for after baby, and the beauty products I'll be needing in the coming months that I won't necessarily want to buy when I'm on less money.

I should absolutely be saving my money to last me but I just can't help myself as I love autumn clothing!

I bought a house in April, tu green linen trousers in July (not worn yet), slippers and a linen top last month.
I work in beauty so get free products.
However I had 37 pairs of black trousers, 15 red dresses and 19 coats.
I gave up shopping two years ago. I donated five bags of clothes last month. Most had labels on.
I love a charity shop. That's my think now.

Every other day. I buy clothes from mid range brands like Sezane, Lululemon etc. I also get facials, skincare products I don't need. I also like buying new furniture. I never go into debt for it and I make sure that I save loads every month.

wow, you must earn a hell of a lot - not jealous 😂

I’m getting better although I do have a weakness for beauty particularly K beauty. Trying to limit my Yes Style orders to 3 monthly but I almost see them as essential now rather than frivolous as compared to what I could spend on equivalent western products, they’re amazing value.
I just had highlights today (Inwas pleasantly surprised to only be charged £66 for T parting) and have booked in for gel toes for 2 weeks time. I usually get gel toes every 10-12 weeks which sounds rank given that they grow out so noticeably but I can’t justify anymore frequently and always choose a nude colour so it blends as grows out.
I’ve also booked in for a Lumieyes treatment in 3 weeks but have got a special deal for a free mesotherapy facial at the same time so justifying it that way!

Clothes I’m pretty bad. I always have something I want - I could have bought up the whole of Zara last week but resisted temptation and didn’t get anything given weather change. I probably usually spend approx £100 month on clothes.

Fragrance I usually buy in bulk (3-4 bottles at a time) from Perfume Parlour twice a year - Autumn/Wintee then Spring/Summer. Less likely to have an impulse perfume purchase as they’re just so damn expensive.

My other weakness is lipstick. I have all core makeup items that I just replace when I run out but I’m always searching for the HG lipstick so probably buy at least one a month.
