Nail treatments

Hi all,

I habitually have my nails painted (either standard varnish or shellac) and as a result they're looking fairly peely, weak, a bit yellow, uneven colour, and generally a bit sad.

Do you have any advice on what to put on them, eat, or supplements to take to improve the health of my nails?

Thank you!

If your nails are weak and peely, gel won’t be the best thing. People might tell you BIAB (builder in a bottle) will help but IMO, it’s pot luck. It wrecked my nails. And gel is best on healthy nails as a decoration rather than on below par nails as a strengthener.

I’ve posted about her before but I follow The Salon Life on YouTube and she tells you how to care for natural nails. Following her advice transformed mine. I also had weak, peely nails and they haven’t peeled at all for months now. Her most important advice is to use regular oil and do warm oil soaks too but you can learn a lot from her other stuff too.

BIAB is crap. All that happened was my nails snapped under it.

I have had IBX once and it has helped, but I know it's a course of 2/3 treatments.
