I know it comes up a lot as to what to wear to the pub, so here's my observations from a sunny London pub garden last Friday. Admittedly, patrons were of the younger variety but there was still enough decrepit old farts like myself, so here goes.
Footwear, trainers are still very much the no.1 choice, wide variety of styles, mostly white but with some coloured ones, chunky as well as plimsoll types with no brand dominating. Converse were strictly for the longer legs! After that, Birkenstock type competed with flat strappies and flip-flops, not good for those in need of arch support (I was in chunky flats)
Younger ones wore shorts or playsuits, some t-shirts but a lot of stappy suntops. Mostly plain with very little pattern. Floral dresses were of the ditsy type and hovered just below the bum and barely there satin slip dresses looked fabulous. Over 25, much more pattern but floral on the way out so small geometric style or fern prints, with hems from knee to mid calf. Styles were very unfussy, though saw some lovely puff sleeves.
Hot evening but saw small cardies and denim jackets carried (no pasminas ....sob!), bags were either large, I assume they may have come from work, or non existent, just phones being carried or in pockets. Just s few of us with cross body camera bags.
Hope this helps and I'm going to a different pub tomorrow night if anyone wants an update!
