Sports bra help for DD

Confuzzleduzzled · 22/06/2023 12:34

DD has a small frame and 30E bust according to boob or bust. She generally finds 32DD are more comfortable (and easier to find in shops) as she hasn’t got much fat around her middle but I think 30E would be better for a sports bra. As she is short with a smallish distance from shoulders to bust she needs to be able to tighten the straps but sports bras don’t usually have much leeway. Can anyone recommend a 30E sports bra?

Have you tried Runderwear? www.runderwear.co.uk/products/power-zest-running-bra

Confuzzleduzzled · 22/06/2023 13:01

@Cornishmumofone i can’t tell from the pictures on the website but the straps don’t seem to be adjustable at all so they won’t be any good.

Panache sports bra. She might actually need the 32 as sports bras are notoriously small in the back

Confuzzleduzzled · 22/06/2023 13:44

@bonfirebash that’s true, I wear panache and they are tight. But again they don’t have much room to adjust the straps. She’s short so needs bras where the straps can be tightened so they don’t fall off her shoulders.

I'm short and GG, but don't find I need the adjustable straps on sports bras in the same way I do with others.
I've found the M&S ones with a zip front to be excellent.
I would strongly suggest taking her into a store to try to get the right fit. Doesn't matter what the label says as long as the back sit straight, it feels comfortable and keeps everything in place.

This is the one I have:

I'm a 30E in regular bras but all my sports bras are 32DD. If she's not comfortable wearing a 30E normally then I think it's unlikely she'll want a sports bra in a 30 back

LadyDanburysHat · 22/06/2023 13:57

I'd recommend Panache or Freya.

Cornishmumofone · 22/06/2023 13:58

The runderwear bra has adjustable straps (several inches at the back).

PlainOldEmmaJane · 22/06/2023 14:01

Shock absorbers multi sports bras are really great and have adjustable length straps. The grey is available on their website in both sizes. They aren’t cheap, but they last really well.

Cluckycluck · 22/06/2023 14:03

Maaree.

Worth every penny and completely true to size.

What about one with a J hook on the back so she can cross it? They often go shorter

Confuzzleduzzled · 22/06/2023 14:10

Good point about sports bras coming up small. 32DD might work after all. Also J-hook sounds good too.

I've a similar sizes bust and short shoulders. I find bras that have a racer clip at the back (but not actually racer backed, if you get me) are a better fit. I think panache has one. Or failing that, I use a small carabiner clip as a diy job!

WhereAreWeNow · 22/06/2023 14:43

I'm a 30e and I wear Panache (non wired) or Shock absorber. I find sports bras come up tight and I hate feeling too constricted when I run so I wear 32dd in sports bras.

WhereAreWeNow · 22/06/2023 14:44

I think the M&S Angel sports bra aimed at teens comes in a 30e and 32dd. That might be worth a go for your DD.

28HH here with very small shoulders and recommend this- the J hook ensures it sits perfectly for me- I run marathons in these.

MoustacheTwirler · 22/06/2023 15:40

I'm 32F and the Panache non-wired are the only sports bra that I find comfortable and offer the right amount of support. The straps are adjustable at the back and you can also clip the back straps together to form a racerback which might help.

Passthecake30 · 22/06/2023 20:16

another vote for shock absorber multi sports, I’m a 30f and wear a 32e.

ohmeoh · 22/06/2023 20:36

@Confuzzleduzzled

"She’s short so needs bras where the straps can be tightened so they don’t fall off her shoulders."

A style with a racer back would help here.

Megamopyeah · 22/06/2023 22:22

I echo a shock absorber one is the only sports bra that’s actually held me in.
