Damn you Revlon!

I've been using the Revlon photo ready primer for years and now the bastards have discontinued it. I've tried smashbox and the beauty crop but they're both too siliconey. I have quite oily skin and the Revlon one kept me matte and blurred my pores, are there any other ones as good?

Google search the product often discontinued cosmetics are available on ebay or discount beauty sites for a while.
Gives you time to find an alternative.

I've been frantically googling but everywhere is sold out. Sad

There are a few on Vinted at the moment

BlueBlueBerries · 22/06/2023 12:42

And eBay as well

Ooh they're the new version, last time I looked that one must not have been out. I'll try it and hopefully they haven't changed it too much, thanks!

I used to use Smashbox and was heartbroken when discontinued. NYX studio perfect photo loving primer is pretty much exactly the same and £10.50 on Amazon

Mac do a good shine control one, not silicony like others

May I ask why do you use a primer? What benefit does it offer, and do you use it after moisturizer and before makeup?

I tend to be a simple tinted moisturizer gal, so multiple steps seem so much extra in the morning!

I love Laura Gellers Spackle primer

I think the intention is to keep make up in place and to create a smoother base so the application of makeup goes on better in the first place?

Markwins wet n wild Silicon-Free Face Primer https://amzn.eu/d/8na1tAY

This is absolutely brilliant, don't be put off by the price as I'd happily pay 10x the price. I hate primers normally but this is lovely and really good mixed with your foundation too for a lighter summer base.

Thank you, I'll definitely look at the Mac, Laura Gellers and the Amazon one! I didn't realise the Smashbox one is discontinued as well, I found a small tube of the green one so have been using that but I much prefer the Revlon.

@mdinbc without a primer I'm shiny with visible pores, not a great look, and I've never found a tinted moisturiser pale enough for me.
