Face cream with SPF

My Soap and Glory Urban Legend day cream is running out and I've discovered it's been discontinued 😩 the day face creams from s&g now don't have SPF.

I went to Boots yesterday and unless I wanted to spend upwards of £20, I couldn't find a day cream with SPF. My S&G one used to be about £8 a tube I think!!

Any recommendations for a not too expensive daily face moisturiser with SPF? I don't want tinted either...

Thanks!

I haven’t bought spf face creams for years as the factor is never high enough, I just use a plain moisturiser and spf 50 on top.

I use this.

How moisturising is this?

AuntieMarys · 21/06/2023 08:39

Cerave factor 50 moisturiser...about £12

Floofydawg · 21/06/2023 08:40

Another vote for Cerave.

prescribingmum · 21/06/2023 08:45

Further vote for Cerave SPF 50. Reasonable price and good quality

NoLostCause · 21/06/2023 08:52

I like the L'Oréal Revitalist anti-uv fluid, factor 50. It's really light and goes on just like a moisturiser.

darkmodeon · 21/06/2023 08:53

You have to use loads to get the SPF they advertised

itsahotmess · 21/06/2023 08:53

The new Number 7 range has a moisturiser with factor 40 in it.

It's very good. I've stopped using my separate SPF

No7 future renew daycream is lovely and has spf 40. The whole range is fab.

CMOTDibbler · 21/06/2023 09:19

The Cerave is very good

I second this the range was on 3 for 2 . I love the night cream . The day cream is factor 40 and therefore thick - like some else said be aware some of the others wouldn’t be factor 40 in standard amount of cream

BruceAndNosh · 21/06/2023 09:24

Another vote for Cerave
I use the 25 /30 (they've just upped the SPF) in the winter and 50 in the summer

MattDamon · 21/06/2023 09:25

Superdrug have quite a few. Type: 'SPF day cream' into the search bar.

I agree. Worth every penny and as it's usually 3 for 2 (sometimes with a £5 off voucher as well) I thinks it's excellent value for money. I used to be a Protect and Perfect fan, but was persuaded to trade up. Usually I find all the sales blah blah blah a load of baloney, but I have been genuinely blown away by how good it is.

AuntieDolly · 21/06/2023 09:38

Olay has spf15

I really like Korean sunscreens, I use Etude House. It's got a light, non-greasy texture and it sits well under makeup. The Bioré one had too much alcohol and made my eyes sting, but this one is light and non-drying.

I use the CeraVe and La Roche Posay on days where I'm feeling a little flush

I have dry skin and find it moisturises well.

I had a thread on SPF with Vitamin C but there was quite a lot of discussion about other options and I've been reporting back! The ones I like are technically moisturisers but with high SPF.

Simple and a Boots one have topped my choices and the Boots one is factor 50 which I like. I'm using it as an SPF not just a face cream - but then I have insanely dry skin and like an extra layer!

Thank you everyone! In summer I top up the SPF with suncream but I like a moisturiser with SPF all year round.
Thanks for the recommendations, now I know what to look for 🙂
