I feel like a Pirate - help

Got 2nd ear piercing done a while back and thought of all the lovely earring combos I could now have. However, so far, whatever hoops I put in, all huggies, varying sizes, thicknesses from thin upwards, I feel like I look like a pirate ☠️

Pic attached. What am I doing wrong?? The ones in this pic are new rose gold ones that are too thick which doesn't help so before I let the 2nd piercing grow over,

At the risk of being unhelpful, I don’t think the 2nd ear piercing looks good on everyone /suits everyone’s style. I had mine done, and then had similar issues. I ended up with tiny, almost dot studs in the second piercing for a long time then just let them heal up.

definitely don’t wear with breton tops.

Yes, my second hole just has a small stud.

(and I only have it in one ear - a friend and I split the cost when we were in sixth form over 40 years ago and had one each 😁)

It's the thickness of the hoops that make you look like a pirate.

Own it. Get one of those cuff ones at the top of your ear in the shape of a parrot.

Are you wearing the pair of ear rings in the same ear?

I wear a main paired ear ring in the lower piercing of each ear and then smaller studs, which might or might not match in the upper piercing. I don't look like a pirate.

Are they the same earring? I am currently wearing three hoops in one lobe, but they're all specifically made for stacking and get smaller as they go up the ear. They're also not identical - one is gold with pearls, one is just gold with tiny diamanté in and the other is plain gold with a dangling gem on.

They look better when they're different imo!

Absolutely need to be different. I use the "spare piercing" as it were, to wear single earrings where I've lost one of a pair.

I agree with the others, I think you need different designs with the “heavier” one in your lower piercing and probably a stud in the top one.

Those are too chunky and don't look modern enough. Also it could just an illusion but the piercings look quite close together which might affect what type of earring you go for.

The peg leg, eyepatch and wearing two hoops won't be helping.
Put a tiny stud in the top one until you've had the cartilage at the top done then you can make all the patterns!

Ahhhhh!!! (Me harty!) It's not just me! I also look like a pirate whenever I wear any kind of gold hoops, even just as regular earrings (ie one in each lobe). Any kind of gold hoops. It's really annoying! I think I just have a piratical face, which isn't a bad thing, I reckon?

Thanks for all the suggestions, these hoops have to go. I do often wear studs in the top holes but it still doesn't look right. Maybe I will embrace the pirate thing anyway with a full eyepatch as I have excema on one eyelid. Two birds, one stone 😁

Have you tried wearing silver OP? I have similar skin tone to you and I look like I’m wearing someone else’s jewellery if I wear gold close to my face

Yes I do and agree, Silver definitely suits me better!
