I live in tops and trousers. I wear dresses to formal occasions, not everyday, and haven't worn a skirt in over 20 years.

I'm 5ft 4" and have for medical reasons am carrying a lot more weight than I would have before, meaning I'm a size 14/16 on top, but I also have no possibility of losing that weight right now. I really need summer tops.

In winter, batwing jumpers are my go to shape. Becca and Christine jumpers from Phase 8 really work. I have similar shapes from other places, and they all just seem to work for me.

But I can't wear these jumpers in summer. I've struggled to find anything that shape. Can anybody please advise as to where I could find this type of shape in summer weight tops, ideally with a shorter sleeve, or at most 3/4 length? To add to the complexity, as I'm not in the UK, ability to order on-line would be great. Florals definitely don't suit me, and with my naturally pink complexion, and peri-menopausal flushes, nothing that is strongly pink or red is proving flattering.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I love a batwing sweater! I've just discovered Free People after reading about them on this board and I'm obsessed. Lots of oversized drapey clothes in natural fabrics and beautiful muted colours. Not cheap (although I expect there will be a sale soon) and it's quite a boho look so might be too casual depending on your workplace.

I had something from All Saints that would have fit the bill with long sleeves but with poppers so you could decide how wide the neck was and they went down the arms. It was made of lightweight cotton so perfect for a sunny day that isn’t too warm. You could try Ebay and Vinted.

I got light batwing tops in New Look last summer.

I have both Cos T shirts above and am also a 14-16 top. Also got some Cos Ts from last year that are trapeze-style as they get wider at the bottom. They are the most flattering shape of T and the only time people have actually asked me where my T shirts are from.

M&S Autograph also have some more boxy shaped t shirts and the quality is amazing. I think they're £30 but I can tell they are going to last me years.

Arket have some longer sleeved trapeze-style tops which are very flattering.

Thank you all so much.

I've ordered the New Look one in two colours - blue and white. A shop in town stocks Cos, so I'll go in to try them on, but they look really promising. And I absolutely love pretty much everything on Wrap London's website. I'm having issues registering as a customer who's not in the UK or US, but they do do international delivery, so should be okay. I've contacted customer service, so hopefully they'll get back to me soon about how I order.

Off to look at Arket, Toast and Uniqlo now - thank you.
