Why can't hairdressers/barbers cut the sides of my son's hair the same?

I don't understand why he always gets two sides cut completely different! And the side burns one pointy and one straight.

It's so embarrassing to point their mistakes out, surely they should do a better job??

Anyone else find this or we are just unlucky multiple times?

Does he move around when it’s cut? Or sit a bit funny.

Hair doesn't grow symmetrically. Maybe it's the same on each side when wetted and combed down, but once it dries, one side lies flatter than the other, and one sideburn clumps together into a point while the other splays out.

He sits dead still, but noticed generally they don't do a thorough job, is it because he's a child and they rush?
