Help me find knickers that stay up.

I've been buying these M&S knickers for years. Last set got a bit baggy and kept slipping down. Have bought new set which are smaller so proves the previous set had lost their elastic but have slipped down immediately anyway.

Can anyone help me find suitable knickers?

I want good coverage but not really ugly. I'm a size 16 with saggy tummy.

John Lewis Anyday brand. Plain, comfy, £10 for 5 pairs. Definitely recommended.

Screamingabdabz · 16/06/2023 22:12

Wow are you me? Same problem here. Watching with interest. I used to buy any supermarket pack of fives which reliably stayed up no matter what. But now - nope. They all have lose elastic and I’m forever hoiking them up!

PJRules · 16/06/2023 22:20

I used to buy m&s midrise short for years, look very similar. Now they only do low rise, which slip down, or high rise which are very granny.

I also found that m&s gussets are getting thinner and thinner, not even wide enough for a liner.

I risked buying from Amazon, am very happy

I have similar from sainsburys, fit lovely

TomatoSandwiches · 16/06/2023 22:59

Sloggi, never had a problem with them.

sanityisamyth · 16/06/2023 23:01

Snag!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 16/06/2023 23:03

I tried these because they were recommended on Mumsnet, I often have trouble with rolling at the waist but these are great. https://www.amazon.co.uk/wirarpa-Waisted-Underwear-Panties-Breathable/dp/B081SG8T5L/ref=sr_1_9?crid=I40SZPM5C0PR&keywords=wirarpa&qid=1686952879&sprefix=wirapa%2Caps%2C86&sr=8-9

I thought it was just me OP! I found just the same with M&S after years of buying them with no trouble. Welcome thread!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 16/06/2023 23:10

Asda have some very similar looking multi pack ones. Lovely soft lace, cotton, reasonable gussets & don't slip down. Full brief, midi brief, shorts style & high leg. Really comfortable & wash well.

This I’m a similar size to you and they stay up and are very comfy.

whoami24601 · 16/06/2023 23:13

I've got the asda full briefs recommended upthread and love them! They're super comfy and flattering.

ApolloandDaphne · 16/06/2023 23:47

I have pants like those and they don't stay up. My Sloggi's are the best for staying out.

leccybill · 16/06/2023 23:52

Sockshop bamboo 3 pack of knickers for £10. Light as air, comfy as owt and they stay up. I've got loads.

Showerroomlove · 16/06/2023 23:52

I have a long rise and a saggy belly. No elastic in the world would hold up if I bought mid rise knickers. You may need to consider big pants. Sloggi Tai in a bigger size are comfortable and hard wearing.

Beaverbridge · 17/06/2023 04:24

Primark. They come in all basic colours. About £6 for pack of 3. Only ones that stay put on me.

Gracewithoutend · 17/06/2023 04:27

I hate to say it, but I've found they slip down if they're too small. 🤫 But of course they can always slip down if they're too big as well. 🥳

ChrisPPancake · 17/06/2023 07:04

Another vote for Sloggi.

How rude!😄
Seriously my new ones are definitely the right size, just dont have any 'grip'!

Thanks for the tips. will spend a while perusing Amazon later (which I'd not thought of) and Sloggi which i assumed were too boring.
Just frustrating that I risk paying out for more that dont fit.

I found some on Amazon, I can't do a link so just copy & paste: JMC Trading Company New 5 Pack Ladies LACE HIGH Leg Briefs with Cotton Stretch

They're brilliant!

Robbiethedog · 17/06/2023 07:56

Uniqlo cotton high rise are brilliant. They've lasted far longer than my instantly baggy M & S pants. Loads here:

I've got some wirarpa after a recommendation on here. They are comfy and they do stay up, but the style I've got would best be described as 'sturdy'! Very thick cotton.
