Shaved my face - what now!?

NC for this as frankly I feel embarrassed. But I've shaved my face. I usually use a tweezerman spring thing but this morning I thought stuff it and just shaved it off. There's not usually looooads of hair. Just fluff and a few tough ones.

Anyway - is it going to grow back worse? What do I do now as it regrows am I stuck shaving it!

I wax mine. I use those veet microwave pots and those wooden spatulas as the ones you get with the pots are faffy.

The hair will feel thicker as it re grows due to bluntness of the hairs.

Abcdefghik · 15/06/2023 22:35

Yes, I'm afraid you are. Might not be too bad if you just have fluff, but any thicker hair will present a problem regrowth. Mine is more severe than most but I have to shave every day, and I get black stubble.

Yea it’s a nightmare. Get it lasered while it’s shaved is my advice

VintageThoughts · 15/06/2023 22:52

I shave mine all the time.

Several times a week. Takes less than a minute and skin feels lovely afterwards. Makeup sits better too. Mine was 'fuzz'. Hasn't grown back thicker or darker as everyone likes to have you believe

JaneJeffer · 15/06/2023 22:53

Get some eyebrow razors and you can zap the hair as soon as it reappears

JaneJeffer · 15/06/2023 22:55

I wouldn't touch anything that wasn't already dark because on me it would definitely grow back worse

I have a facial epilator that I use roughly once a fortnight. It's great!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/06/2023 23:11

If it's just downy then. Flawless Finish is fantastic and doesn't grow back stubbly.

SarahAndQuack · 15/06/2023 23:21

It's a myth it grows back worse - it's just that you notice it more because the cut ends are square, so when you look at them full-on, they're obvious. But everyone else has been noticing those black hairs before!

But it looks worse!

Your hair follicle doesn't know it has been cut so does not grow back thicker. It may look that way due to the hair being blunt after being cut. I have tried this a couple of times but it's such fine fuzz I have not noticed it to be any different after growing back.

LordSalem · 16/06/2023 01:01

I do mine once a week, just grows back into peach fuzz.
Unlike the eyebrows I shaved off at 17. Never grew back properly, so yeah, don’t do that. They've cost me a fortune in both poor microblading and liquid eyeliner over 16 years Grin

I shave mine every two weeks or so, with a thing called a tinkle razor, like a little straight razor. I just put a thick layer of moisturising cream over my face and shave it off. It exfoliates and removes the fuzz. Products absorb better, and makeup looks better.

shavedmyface · 16/06/2023 06:09

Ok so when it grows back it might look worse but if I deal with it differently when it grows back it should then be ok

Interesting! Yes that's partly why I shaved in the first place - I wanted my makeup to sit better as I had a meeting so was going a bit more glam

I use an eyebrow razor once a week to shave my face, and have done so for years. It doesn't grow back thicker. It's mostly fluff with a few thicker chin hairs - the shaving helps me identify the thicker ones as they are a bit stubbly after a couple of days shaving so I just pluck them out.

I've always had a fluffy face, wish I'd started shaving it earlier really. Make up goes on much better, and just generally my skin looks better.
