Washing 100% viscose

I bought a summer dress which I love. It wasn't cheap but it's quite special and I struggle to find dresses that suit me

I've washed it as per instructions- 30 degree gentle machine wash, and have put it in a laundry bag

But it has shrunk :(

I'll return it but if I get a replacement, is there any way I can safely wash it? Would a cool hand wash work or does shrinkage always occur with 100% viscose?

I find once you iron it on a low heat, it should stretch out again.

what brand is it ? Some are more liable to shrinking than others.

Can it be ironed back to size ? I have a top that definitely seems shrunk when washed but running a cool iron over it gets it back in shape.

Anything liable to shrinkage -cool wash, gentle cycle, pulled back into shape before drying .

Viscose does shrink when washed but bounces right back after its ironed. Slightly damp or using a spray bottle works best. I have loads of viscose clothes as it's so cool to wear so am used to this happening. It'll be fine after an iron.

You'll need to iron it back to shape, then it'll be fine.

Thanks all, that sounds promising. I'll be delighted if I can iron it back :)

Brilliant! I have a handheld steamer for the sole purpose of getting all my summer viscose things back to the right size/shape.
