Nail technician

First world problems but thought would post here.

So there’s a great nail technician I go to locally in the salon where she works who does great nail art. I’ve often had all nails done and nothings been said to me about extra time allowed. In fact when I do go it’s sometimes decided on the day if there is nail art. Last time she was running late which I understand that’s usually lots of factors in that and I only got nail art on one finger as that’s all she had time for and when I asked she said book a longer slot eg weekday etc. I mentioned about her complex art and she said she often does this at home, no offer for me to do that which I could. I do feel she or the owner could’ve said “if you want extra nail art it’s xxx and will take xxx time”.

The salon owner (who owns the beauty and hair salon) is a nasty piece of work and well known for being rude to clients and her staff but I mostly ignore this. I’m loathe to find a new, good nail tech (I do know one but not as good as this one and my ex best friend owns that salon!) but what would others do? I’d pay extra for the art and her time and I told her this.

So what should I do? Find a new nail tech?

I think if you want specific nail art you have to ask in advance as it takes more time than normal. Nail technicians all seem to run late in my experience.

@Softoprider - ok will do! I think I’ve just got lucky in the past and she’s had extra time at the salon. I do know two of the other nail techs have apparently recently left due to the nasty salon owner.

This nail tech has been really good with timekeeping in the past. That’s one thing I liked about her, but I appreciate people can run late.

The salon owner sits there like Jabba the Hut presiding over the main reception and is very well known for rudeness locally. I honestly don’t know why her daughter who used to work there but had a baby doesn’t work there doing reception instead as she was much nicer!

I don’t understand the problem.

Surely when you ring to book you mention that you want nail art and ask for a longer appointment?

My salon does online booking. Every treatment has a time against it so I know that a BIAB is an hour, but a BIAB with removal is 75 mins and the pricing reflects this.
