I had my legs waxed today and am left with legs covered in red bumps. It feels a little tingly still now.

I have a wedding on Saturday, please tell me they will be gone?

I rarely have them waxed, last time was a year ago and I'm pretty sure the bumps disappeared after a couple of hours. Should I worry that they are still here?

Anything I can do?

Phone where you had it done and ask their advice. The last thing you want is to put something on them that will make it worse.

Helpmylegs · 14/06/2023 23:21

Thank you, urgh I really am freaking out. I may have to wear tights in 30 degree heat if it stays like this, I want to cry!

I’d try an antihistamine tablet or cream.

Inca22 · 14/06/2023 23:45

I'd get a spray tan!

cpphelp · 14/06/2023 23:46

It will be gone! I get this every time. Cool shower in the morning if you're worried.
You'll be fine - even if you're not, don't wear tights!

junebirthdaygirl · 14/06/2023 23:55

It will be gone in the morning. Happens to me and once or twice l was embarrassed walking back to the car as legs so red but it was gone next day. And absolutely no tights!!

Helpmylegs · 14/06/2023 23:57

I hope so @cpphelp ! I feel like it looks even worse now than when I took the photo a few hours ago. Maybe the heat is slowing down the disappearing process?

I also stupidly had a shower earlier, I didn't wash my legs as she said not to use soap on them but obviously some water ran off on my legs. Is that why it's worse and itching now? Argh what an idiot!

Must resist trying things to solve it that are just going to make it worse...

I have almost 72 hours for it to disappear, it will be plenty of time right?

I'd get a spray tan!

Likely to irritate it further.

I've had a similar rash after using depilatory cream and also when I've put perfumed cream on after shaving .

I think it went down in a day or so - but an anti-histamine can't harm and may help.

AcclimDD · 15/06/2023 00:02

What about using aloe Vera gel?

cpphelp · 15/06/2023 00:03

72 hours is LOADS of time. Please try to calm down and leave the legs alone!!

continentallentil · 15/06/2023 00:05

It will go down in a day or two. It’s nothing you’ve done, you’ve just had a bit of a reaction.

Take an antihistamine - can’t do any harm.

only cool water.

Helpmylegs · 15/06/2023 00:08

Thank you so much, I will calm down and keep your wise words in mind. Might also help if I got some sleep!

It's erythema caused by waxing, it will disappear within 24 hours. Don't cover yourself in cream in the meantime though or you'll block the pores 😊

LordSalem · 15/06/2023 00:37

CeraVe cream, Amazon did same day delivery when I needed it.

Helpmylegs · 15/06/2023 06:56

It's completely gone! I can't believe it! it was so red, raised, burning and itching just 7 hours ago, but somehow it's now completely vanished. Very happy!
