I’m struggling with recent weight gain due to peri. I have a wedding coming up and really unsure. The nearest ice felt to comfortable is the dress attached but I’m still not sure. I’m 5’4 and old. 😂 and struggling with how to style it

You look lovely in that dress OP. I would choose one colour in the dress like
lilac and choose shoes and a bag that fits with the colour scheme.

Royalsingingseal · 14/06/2023 19:20

Thank you. Lilac is a good call. I’ll start looking. I need a deeper plunge bra too.

I love that dress on you and I agree with choosing lilac to accesorize.

Stratocumulus · 14/06/2023 19:30

Lots of bling too. Load it up.
Nails and toes painted deep lilac?
A lilac flower in your hair?
You’ll look fabulous because you look good in the dress. It’s lovely. Have fun.

Royalsingingseal · 14/06/2023 19:32

Aww thank you. Feeling a lot better now. Off to shop for accessories.

That's a lovely dress and fits you really well. Go for it! 😁

dudsville · 14/06/2023 19:45

It looks good op, and i don't think you need a plunge bra!

Just meant a lower front bra you can see my black one peeking out and the rest I hand in the same style

I think it's really pretty and suits you. I'd probably go for nude sandals rather than lilac but that's just my personal preference. As others suggested - you could go for soft lilac nails or a corsage maybe?

jeaux90 · 14/06/2023 21:03

Gorgeous dress, you look lovely. I agree with PP, I'd go neutral like the base layer of the dress

Chickenlicken15 · 14/06/2023 21:12

im no good on advice but just wanted to say what a gorgeous dress you look great ! Enjoy your wedding

loobylou10 · 14/06/2023 21:12

It’s from Oasis.

I’m with you on a better bra!

Choose a colour from the dress for shoes and a hand bag - lots of bright shoes about at the moment m!

beckslovestimmy · 15/06/2023 12:41

I think tan sandals and bag would look more modern than coloured accessories and are neutral enough to go with anything. You look great in the dress and it looks a lovely cool material for this warm weather we're having.

Aixellency · 15/06/2023 14:49

I’m going to be the Voice of Gloom. It may be the light in the photo but I don’t think those are the best colours you could wear, @Royalsingingseal. Or the best shape. You look as if you could carry off sharp, citrusy colours, and a crisper, more structured shape. It’s a nice enough dress and you look fine in it - but for a wedding I feel you need more pizzazz.

Darklane · 15/06/2023 14:57

That’s lovely & it really suits you. For shoes I’d think about sandals in a colour that you could get a lot of wear out of afterwards. Should it get Collin the evening ( if only) a wrap in one of the colours in the dress would be nice.

Darklane · 15/06/2023 14:58

Cooler, though I suppose you could pull a Collin at the reception 😂

Aixellency · 15/06/2023 15:27

From Oasis I’d say that at least one of these might be fantastic on you. (Obviously hard to say for sure as your photo only gives an impression of ‘fairness’ in skin and hair, and a slim figure. (Also, on the whole I think some other shops might be a bit better in the ‘nowness’ of colour and shape department. The Oasis stock feels a little dated.) Obviously you might not like any of these. Thankfully there are millions of other places to choose from!

For a more 2023 look, and presumably a fairly relaxed wedding style, I’d suggest looking for something more like these (in colour and shape, not saying you should buy either of these - they’re purely for inspiration).

Wow you have great taste @Aixellency 👌

Royalsingingseal · 15/06/2023 16:51

@Aixellency I have huge boobs (h). Oasis is not somewhere I have looked at previously but the cut and neckline, I felt, detracted from said huge boobs. I have tried other dresses I really have but fitting is a real pain for me at the moment.

I love the dress OP, does it have some stretch in it?

Aixellency · 16/06/2023 13:27

So essentially, @Royalsingingseal , you need more generously cut dresses? Don’t think you’ve mentioned your usual dress size? (As I said you look slim!) If Oasis is around your usual budget I suspect you may have to accept spending more per item. (Or buying pre-worn.)

I saw this earlier and thought of you. This one is only available in a Large, but there’s a darker coloured version in more sizes.

I love that but the higher nick line will put a stone on me. It would hang from my bust and I would need to size up. Looking at the picture in profile she had a small bust and looks great but not for me.
