Varifocal sunglasses anyone?

If you wear varifocals what do you wear for sunglasses?

I got some varifocals a few months ago and found them transformative.

However, if I got a matching pair (prescription wise) of sunglasses are they inordinately expensive? Especially as I wouldn't be wearing them that much?

I can imagine 3 options. Potentially pricey varifocal sunglasses, prescription sunglasses only fitting one of my sight issues, or popping big pair of sunglasses over the top of my ordinary glasses. But does that look naff? And they would probably be a poor fit?

My DH has verifocals with reactalight lenses. They work fine for him except when he's in the car as the lenses don't darken through the windscreen so he's got some sunglasses that clip onto his glasses. He got them in the opticians. They've got small hooks on each side which clip on one side and you pull them across to hook on the other side. They cost about £25 i think. I've got them for my distance glasses as I didn't want to get a separate pair of sunglasses. They work really well.

Those that have used Asda do the varifocals have that blurry bit round the edges of the glasses? Specsavers have different grades of varifocals and it works out expensive, as it's all extra! The cheapest ones have blurriness at the edges of the lens.

I haven't noticed it.
But I've had varifocals for several years so they're second nature to me.

I have driver reactor lights, they're brilliant and go very dark.

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor I don't think he knows about those. I'll get him to ask the optician. Thanks very much!

I have varifocals with sunglass overlays - they are by Mint Magnetics, so I only need to buy a pair of glasses and the overlays come free! Game changer for me and so easy to pop on and off https://www.minteyewear.co.uk/magnetic-sunglass-clip/
