Botox for my Resting B**** Face

I know this might sound a bit rediculous but recently I've been considering getting Botox to raise my eyebrows a bit. I have very hooded eyelids and unless I consciously raise my eyebrows up a bit I look very miserable! This does not reflect how I feel. Also one eye is droopier than the other.

When I go somewhere that I know I want to chat to people I have to raise my eyebrows a bit which makes me look more approachable. I know this makes a difference as people actually come and chat to me rather than being ignored. People probs just assume I don't want to talk to anyone when I look like I'm frowning.

But I just find it hard work to consciously have to put this extra effort and literal muscle energy into looking approachable.

Has anyone got Botox for this reason? Were you happy with the results?

If you have had Botox for any reason were/are there any negative side effects? Both long term and short term?

I'm not sure how accurate they could be to make my eyes look more even anyway.

Thank you

I have low eyebrows OP (my eyelashes touch my eyebrows) and I tried Botox twice (both doctors who were good practitioners) but it had the opposite effect. Because I could no longer raise my eyebrows, I looked permanently pissed off. I couldn't apply mascara.

Both doctors I went to said that in most cases Botox will only lift the brows very very slightly (like millimetres) so I wouldn't have it done if that is the effect you're after.

I had really hooded eyes too and got an upper blepharoplasty back in 2019 with great results. However at my consultation the plastic surgeon said that Botox isn't great for hooded eyes as sometimes it can stop you raising your brow (as it will be frozen with Botox). She said it could make it worse so I probably wouldn't recommend it if that's the effect you are after.

Ah OK. Thanks both, so Botox is not the one. @steelseries I hope yours returned to pre Botox.

I'm a bit scared of blepharoplasty it seems very intrusive...in comparison to Botox.

What was the recovery like @pharmachameleon ?

The recovery was okay. Stitches out 7 days post op. I am super pale though and bruise so easily so I did have some bruising under my eyes that I could cover with make up.
