Hair colour help needed please?

Ok, my natural hair is stark white but currently covered with Live Intense permanent black dye Cosmic blue. You can see the blue coming from the side of the photo on the 65

My roots are coming through and I have a wedding coming up in July. (I'm wearing red to the wedding in case it makes any difference)

I was thinking about trying to do the roots in a Copper for a change probably Garnier Olia Bold 7.40 intense Copper permanent dye.

I do my own hair as I hate my hair being touched so a hairdresser is out of the question so I cut my own as well. So consult my hairdresser as I am my own hairdresser.

Any advice on if it might work or if I need to balance out the colour etc with anything and if so what.

Added photos for context.

Thank you 🙏

You will have to do a lot of colour remover and bleaching to get your hair light enough to have the copper. I wouldn't risk it to be honest, it's too big a change and so much can go wrong.

So you want just the roots copper and the rest the colour you have now?

I would think any overlap could go green.

Tangerine Dream by Bleach London is an intense colour shampoo. It'll look great on your white!

I used it last week on my brown hair with white highlights - the white blonde went copper and the brown looked auburny.

I have black underneath (natural hair colour) but obviously the copper didn't make any difference to it.

If it fades just do it again. It's great stuff x

Absolutely too risky to try and do at home. Plus copper and the blue would be too much. As a pp said there is also the risk of green.

Personally I'd top up the blue and leave it as that

Or there's Bleach London Proper Copper :)

Another option is to use the esalon product & services for this. You send a photo of your hair and what you want to do with it and a colourist will get back to you with advice and options. They can then send you a kit (with colour etc) and instructions.

Yes, it will be more expensive than box 'off the shelf' colour

As an ex hairdresser absolutely not. Either use your current colour or strip the colour out using colour remover, then put the colour you want on. Read the instructions & follow to the letter if you're stripping out the colour.

That was the idea. It's just an idea really.

But looking at all the potential thing's that could go wrong and I will just carry on with the cosmic blue over all. That's sorted it out in my head.

Thank you. So it would be a bad idea overall.

Definitely. Wait until after your event to play around with your colour.
