What have been the items of clothing or makeup items etc. where you have pushed your own boundaries and challenged yourself?

For me it has been red lipstick and a figure hugging dress made of jersey material.

Blue mascara. TBH it was an open door. Me and my bffs wore it in the 80s and it gives me great transgressive joy.

Shorts, for the usual body-hating reasons. I got over by getting older and having a word with myself.

Leggings without something over the top. Partly for the same reason, but also because for so long it just looked 'unfinished' to me in terms of being dressed.

Heels. I never wore them much because I felt 'too tall'. Tried it for a bit, decided I wasn't missing much and went back to being nice to my feet.

Skinny jeans. I've got muscular calves and was very self conscious about them.

Weirdly, it was post baby #1 that I revisited them and really took to them. I think my body had changed a lot so I was trying anything and everything to see what fitted, and it turned out that skinny jeans were fine after all. Unlike half of my other clothes, which I don't think will ever fit me properly again, regardless of weight!
