Footwear to dress up flared jeans?

I want to wear a pair of flared jeans for a night out but I really don't want to wear heels. Are there any flat shoes that look good with flares other than casual footwear like Vans?

When I wore flared jeans first time round it was with wedge sandals, but they didn't get seen anyway as it was important that the jeans covered the shoes. Sorry - not much help!
