Can't unscrew flat back earrings!!

Got my ears pierced ten weeks ago by a very good piercer, I have flat back titanium earrings in. All healed lovely. Went to change them for the first time today and the blooming things are properly stuck on - the DP has had a pair of small pliers on the back and still can't get them to shift! He's now talking about a pair of mole grips....
Any advice while I still have ears?!? 😂

Its the front that twists off if they are flat backed labrets

OrlandointheWilderness · 10/06/2023 12:12

Yep that's the bit we are trying to unscrew!

These are the most common styles of labret

Ah right
Is he turning them the right way?
Wd40? 😆

Pair of latex gloves will give better grip than a set of pliers.

If that fails, get the piercer to do the change.

Crikeyisthatthetime · 10/06/2023 12:15

Call the piercer for advice?

OrlandointheWilderness · 10/06/2023 12:16

Yep internally threaded ones. Yes the correct way!
WD40 has been mentioned....! 😂

he's used latexx gloves. I've messaged the piercer to see what she suggests.

Back to the piercer. I've had to do this a couple of times. Once they saved the earings another time she said I can't save them what do you want to do. We took them out. The lock had completely broken. I'm very careful with backs now .

HappiDaze · 10/06/2023 12:42

I'd be using my WD40 for sure

Do you have a small child handy? I have struggled to unscrew mine a few times and was convinced they were stuck fast but my 8 year old managed it with her tiny little fingers.

LadyPoison · 10/06/2023 19:15

Are you sure they are threaded?

My labret ends are all push fit so you just pull (hard!)

OrlandointheWilderness · 11/06/2023 10:30

Ohh @evilharpy I do have a 12 year old... are the fingers still sufficiently tiny at that age do you reckon!? 😂
Yes definitely threaded
