I've used the Holland and Barrett ones (marine and now bovine), they are massive and you take 3 but if you don't mind taking tablets they're fine. Marine definitely noticed a difference as was before I did much to my face besides wash it, and my nails grew really fast. Not sure on bovine yet but they were a lot cheaper so I bought some
I bought a huge tub which was on buy 1 get 1 free

I'm the same age as you and have been taking bovine collagen (in powdered form) for a few months. It's amazing the difference it has made. Better hair and nails, really soft skin and much better recovery and flexibility in exercise. Joint pain is much much reduced.
I can't help with tablets but the powdered stuff I take every morning in a smoothie. If I forget or have a different breakfast then I add it to yoghurt and there's no taste. It's really great.

Not pills but a drink & expensive but I'm on day 4 of the SkinAid drinks!

The last time I saw my friend she was 2 weeks in & looked really good so I'm giving them a try.

I had a skin graft in March so I am hoping they help with the scar.

Not very helpful atm but I'll report back!

Can anyone tell me the difference between the marine & bovine tablets... apart from the price.

I went with bovine as I really detest fish which was on the marine ingredients

Tuffmama · 12/06/2023 19:30

Thanks… I’m seeing marine is better is well

Tablets aren't recommended.

Tablets aren't recommended.

Why?

OP posts:
Gwenhwyfar · 12/06/2023 20:37

Tuffama, I'm not a scientist so I'm not sure why, but I've read a lot about collagen and powder or liquid is recommended over tablets.

I understand, but I haven’t come across any research that says … I will dig deeper. Thank you

I use a powder in my coffee in the morning and it's tasteless! Using marine but my friend has recently recommended Bovine after reading it's better (I have no idea why!)

I’m reading mixed reviews…

what do you use? Are you seeing a difference?

So I'm another week on, can't say that I have noticed a difference to my face but my eyelashes feel super fat (my common sense tells me it can't be real in such a short space of time).

What is noticeable though is the amazing difference to the skin graft scar! That has healed so much faster in the last 2 weeks than the last 2 months! I'm wondering if my body is diverting all the Collagen to my leg! 🤣

I'll report back when I have finished the month but I'm already thinking I will do another month purely for the scar.
