I've got a black & cream dress to wear to a wedding

I want to wear nude shoes & bag, but would that look weird??

Need more details or a photo of the dress, @TomAllenWife!

‘Nude’ is different for different people - it’s impossible to ‘see’ your proposed outfit without knowing the cut and pattern of the dress, your colouring and the style of the accessories.

That said, it sounds a little dull. Wouldn't some colour be more festive?

TomAllenWife · 09/06/2023 07:54

I don't have any coloured shoes
It's either black or nude

And the wedding is tomorrow

The only sensible thing my DS has said in years is ‘it doesn’t matter what you wear to a wedding as no one will be looking at you’. Either shoes will do - which are more comfortable? Have a good time

MuddlerInLaw · 09/06/2023 08:36

I’m afraid your DS is incorrect, @mdh2020.

This is the Style & Beauty board - where people come to talk about shopping and styling clothes for an infinite variety of events. People notice what other people are wearing at every second of every day. And even before we took a million photos a day people specifically dressed up for weddings. To do honour to the wedding couple, to mark the significance and celebration of the occasion, and, crucially, to ensure they’ll look good in the wedding photos that might be examined for years, decades, generations. To say people shouldn’t bother about what they wear to a wedding is … frankly, weird.

@TomAllenWife As you haven’t provided any more information I’m afraid I can’t offer any useful advice.

I would probably wear black shoes with black and cream (out of the two choices) but without seeing the dress, it's difficult to advise.

Have you taken a photograph of yourself in both shoes. Sometimes seeing side by side photos makes it more obvious which looks better, than looking in a mirror.

I'm going with these
