Thicker plain t-shirts for a size 18

8be got a few of the ubiquitous slouch/cap sleeve tees from Next, but their thin, drapery material clings to every bump. What I'm after is some slightly thicker material that stands away from my body...if that makes sense!

I'm after a scoop of v-neck ideally.

Has anyone seen any?

I have some basic ones from the River Island plus size section. They're really nice quality and wash well, plus they're 2 for £14.

I wish I could recommend Rapanui, as they are good quality, have a lovely scoop neck design and are ethical, but I find their 18 (largest they do) a bit marginal over the bust.

EvenmoreDisorganised · 08/06/2023 14:57

There are some ribbed ones in the H@M basics section which are fitted without being clingy. Large fits me size 16-18. Round neck though.

Basic plain tshirts I go straight to wholesalers like the ones which give you the option for logo embroidery for uniforms. They have loads of shapes, necklines, weights and colours. They sell them individually and you can buy them plain plus they're really cheap.
Personally I like the mens fit and I have some heavyweight fruit of the loom in white that are not at all see through. I use this website - https://www.firelabel.co.uk/personalised-t-shirts/

I can't do men's T-shirts.

They are too high around the neck!
I suspect Op is similar as she asked for V neck or scoop.

I am following with interest as I have the same problem

Marks and Spencer Autograph. Really good quality, thick cotton. Or Cos.

steppemum · 09/06/2023 18:53

this year M&S are rubbish.

that is partly though because they are too short.

Saucery · 09/06/2023 18:58

I found a fantastic M&S one the other week that is made of proper thick cotton and not the short, boxy thin material ones they normally do. It’s a stripy one, not sure if they had any plain ones.
Have previously had John Lewis Anyday ones that fit and last well, think they went up to an 18.

I like the multipack tshirts from simply be
They have a range of colour schemes too

I swear by Toast tee shirts. Great quality, they keep their shape and colour and last for years.

The initial outlay may be higher but you won't have to replace them for a long while.

Last year I bought Joules, Marks autograph and landsend. The landsend do a low scoop neck. I have worn my black ones for two years. I am bigger than you at a 20. I am also nearly six foot. I shall be ordering the Landsend ones tonight!
