Botox - 8 days in - not sure?

I am 39. Skin is ok.

Had botox for first time 8 days ago. Three areas but a small amount. My 11s went smooth straight away although they weren't really permanently wrinkled, I just can't wrinkle the area now with movement which is fine.

Forehead has slowly been smoothing out but still wrinkled above my eyebrows and at the very top when I lift my brows. So forehead isn't exactly looking amazing.

Most disappointing though is my crows feet have not really changed much at all.
Also my eyelids feel quite heavy in the mornings and a bit puffy which I have read is normal.

Feeling a bit underwhelmed by it tbh. Any experience or reassurance?

I've had Botox a few times and by day 8 I wouldn't say my crows feet had disappeared yet but they definitely were less wrinkles.

It could be the muscles around that area are strong and you may need a top up. Did the person who gave you Botox ask you to come back for a top up in two weeks? Most do.

Hi @AJ2009 yes they said to come back in 2 weeks. She did say she was only giving me a low dose. Is it possible to disappear them? They aren't horrendous but it would be good if they weren't there when I smiled!

They usually say two weeks is the max amount of time to give Botox to work so if you still have wrinkles then the top up should hopefully make those disappear. The good thing is as well it shouldn't hurt as much the second time, you just feel a crunch in your skin as the needle enters but not much pain.

When my husband had Botox in his forehead he had the top up and still had some wrinkles. The lady doing it said he just has strong muscles.

Ok thanks that is good to know. Just thought it would be this wonderous thing and am a bit deflated and paranoid my forehead now looks massive haha

I found the difference really came a couple of days after my top up, was the same as you thinking it was probably a waste of money until then.

It does keep going up until about 20 days after so I wouldn’t rush for a top up incase you end up over botoxed. That said not all brands work on everyone. I can’t get on with azzalure for example. You also have practitioners that ‘water down’ Botox so not all results will be great

Two weeks is the final test! Just go back for more if you're not happy with results they should too you up for free

Thanks all. My eye is ever slow slightly lower but I don’t think anybody can tell except me. Crows feet not loads better. Will be patient!!

How did it end up going for you @Primrosefrill

Primrosefrill · 02/10/2023 19:16

I had a top up and once it had all evened out it looked great. My crows were still there but reduced. 11 lines still not come back! Forehead slowly coming back to normal. I would definitely have it again 👍
