What was your last 'treat myself purchase?

Your last purchase that wasn't something you needed, but something you WANTED.

I feel guilty if I buy something I don't need, even if it's only a few quid. I think my last 'luxury' purchase was a £20 handbag!

A pair of flare jeans. They were finally on sale.

DisforDarkChocolate · 08/06/2023 12:52

I'm ignoring the much-needed new knickers from M&S and mention the new dress from Boden instead https://www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/pintuck-detail-mini-dress/sty-d0520 which makes me feel fabulous. Now I'm going to treat myself to somewhere to wear it.

Vivienne Westwood prescription sunglasses. They are big and round and beautiful 😍

lakesummer · 08/06/2023 13:06

A gel manicure and pedicure.
I feel so grown up ( I am nearly 50!)

Long denim skirts from Zara, 3 of them. I love them at the moment and hope they’ll still look good for autumn/winter with boots.

I'm trying to do a low-buy year, so less but better, and working towards a more streamlined wardrobe, so keeping clothes to one item per month. Last month it was this sweatshirt from Boden; my sister got me the pink one as a birthday present and I liked it so much I got the grey as well. Now it's pretty much my weekend uniform with sportswear or jeans, and I don't have to think too hard about what I'm wearing.

I also had a makeup lesson at Bobbi Brown, because I don't normally wear makeup, but the sleep deprivation was starting to show 😴and bought some blush and concealer which are so easy to use and make me feel a bit more polished.

The M&S summer beauty bag. Everything in it is usable for me for once!

Love the dress, not sure I could justify the cost though as it would feel too nice to wear!

Charlotte Tilbury magic serum and beautiful skin foundation, well over £100 for 2 items & no freebies😯Before covid you used to get samples from the beauty counters. Not anymore you don't.

Online is your friend. Charlotte Tilbury do samples with online purchases, especially if you join the loyalty scheme

@Dummycrusher wow! Congratulations! What’s it like / any pics?

@TheOwlChronicles is it any good? Very interested!

A pair of shorts and a skort. Last summer I had to buy size 18s. I've lost tonnes of weight since then so last week, I bought size 8s. I needed them but it was also a bit of a milestone marker.

I bought this dress on Sunday for £200. Did I need it? No. Did I have a reason for buying it? Also no. Didn’t stop me. 😂

I do have places to wear it though so clearly IANBU.

This is a very lovely dress. Totally not my usual style but just so pretty.
Where is it from?

A KitchenAid mixer which arrived today! I bake a lot and have been thinking about a KitchenAid for about two years. I've spent so much time looking at them on Amazon. I can afford it but didn't feel I could justify it. Every time I baked, I would think to myself 'I wish I had a KitchenAid' so last weekend after making cookies and thinking the same thing, I went on to Amazon, spent a few more days faffing and then ordered it. It's been delivered today and I can't wait to open it later.

Unfortunately the colour doesn't match my kettle and toaster so I've also had to replace those but I've been thinking about that for a while as well.

I treated myself to a jade, rose quartz and 14k gold necklace from my local thrift shop. It was $50 so not cheap cheap but I think a fair price. I am really enjoying wearing it.

A bracelet with tiny minature van gogh paintings on it. It had been pursuing me round the Internet and I caved.

Some shampoo and conditioner arrived yesterday. It was £160. I think my DH would have imploded if he knew I'd spent that much Grin

I ordered the last 3 'Strike' books that i needed to complete my collection. £20 with no p&p from World Of Books which i dont think is too bad, they are hardcovers as well. The other 3 books, i managed to get from charity shops for £2 each so the whole collection for less than £30. May have to pay full price for the new on when it comes out in a couple of months though!
