What was your last 'treat myself purchase?

Your last purchase that wasn't something you needed, but something you WANTED.

I feel guilty if I buy something I don't need, even if it's only a few quid. I think my last 'luxury' purchase was a £20 handbag!

Neom Magnesium Body Butter. Expensive, but worth it.

Also Neom treatment candle. And pillow spray. And wonder balm. So many GWP deals going on at the moment, there are some bargains to be had.

I had my eye on a beautiful long part cashmere winter coat all last year ... waited for the summer sale and bought it! Still a big purchase ( probably the most I've ever spent on a single item to be honest) - but a great discount. So I am pleased 😀

I have been eyeing up the guerlain meteorites pearls for ages. But they are not cheap at £50 for essentially, face powder. I got a voucher when I left my job and could have spent it on something eminently more sensible but you need the odd frivolity in life so I got them.

Bluetooth headphones so I can listen to audiobooks in bed ;) Also some Nuxe dry oil because I had a sample and really liked it.

And that bag is amazing @ChrisPPancake

Kennahevabescut · 02/07/2023 19:24

A v expensive summer handbag!! Haven't bought a bag in years and years and even then only had cheapish ones.

Got a bit of a windfall at work, most of it needed to go on the mortgage but i decided fuck it I'm treating myself.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/07/2023 21:43

A pair of pale pink Sketcher training shoes (which I did need)

Then a top/skirt set . I thought I could wear the top with white trousers and the Sketchers .
But as a set they look really nice and I'd regret not buying both pieces ....so I did .

Also I was drooling over a gold vest and/or polo top from Mint Velvet but they were £50/£80
Saw a similar (but obviously not MV) vest foe £20 in Sainsbury so bought that .

(Disclaimer@ going on a cruise later this year , need nice evening clothes )

A Dyson fan. Hopefully it will be a good investment!

It will definitely be a good buy.

I bought my Dyson hot & cold tower fan 8 years ago, still going strong. The digital temperature red & blue display doesn’t fully illuminate now but the heating, cooling & oscillation functions still work perfectly.
I suppose that was my fairly expensive ‘treat myself’ item.🙂

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 03/07/2023 08:33

@JimnJoyce I am told I am weird for doing this, but I always fasten my bras at the front, then whizz it back round to the back, rather than putting my arms in and fastening at the back, as I think you're supposed to?! It may mean I have to juggle my Nungas into position, but much easier IMHO.

@Tooyoungtofeelthisold that wig sounds Ace!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 03/07/2023 08:38

@70isalimitnotatarget gold vest sounds good! I have conveniently forgotten that I have treated myself with my Nationwide bonus to the Jane Austen bag from Yoshi. I luffs it so much. I have a couple of Yoshi bags, and DH has bought me the matching spex case. Also, a Jane Austen card case from Etsy, with a Pride Pred quote on the back. I'm off to find a link to spread the love.

I just got these earrings from Monica Vinader. They are going to be my everyday earrings ,diamonds but not expensive to fret over if something happens.

A pair of olive suede DMs. My first ever. I’ve just told work I’m retiring in July & it feels like I’ve jumped off a financial cliff. Airwair soles for a cushioned landing! Change my life change my wardrobe!!

Love this

Elemis cleansing balm, I can't afford it regularly but I've truly never found anything else as good. Also love the night cream but that's a super duper treat/Xmas present.

Look out for Elemis on QVC Todays special values, hugely reduced prices .

4 nights at an adults only all inclusive little hotel in Majorca, on my own. Dreamt of doing it for over a decade. It was utter bliss.

(I don’t really buy shoes, clothes, bags etc)

Ooh which one . I'm looking for a similar solo break to recharge .

I’ve just ordered these, Khaki Leoppard print, bargain in the sale reduced by £60.🥰

Have owned 2 pairs of 1461 shoes for past 8-9 years. One red with small flowers & one yellow with small flowers. Love them and so comfortable, always get compliments. I retired at age 62 am nearly 70 now.

@DontForgetTheYakMilk
Enjoy your retirement.💐

Just bought Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy perfume. Okay, the bottle looks like it belongs to a 12 year old but the smell is glorious. Only £18 on Amazon!

Ohmylovejune · 05/07/2023 13:07

I bought a Mulberry purse and Alexa handbag as a treat when I retired from one of my part time jobs earlier this year.

I use the purse all the time but haven't used the handbag at all yet - don't go anywhere!

HornchurchClaire · 05/07/2023 14:03

There have been a couple.
£25 pret a manger monthly subscription (though I've since cancelled now they've put the price up).

£695 mulberry Alexa handbag which was on sale when I started my new job in Jan.

£350 keratin treatment at Toni and guy (loved the massage chair whilst having hair washed and had 3 glasses of prosecco)

My next planned ones are:
Ancestry DNA
Invisilign teeth straighten (not NEEDED but wanted)
Microbladed brows.

All planned for when eldest son finishes nursery and starts school in sept!

Don't feel guilty. As long as your child/ren don't want for nothing you deserve that treat. ❤️

IrisEmily · 05/07/2023 14:04

Mac Stack mascara recommended by a friend as fed up of 'panda eyes'!
Some Jessicurl products as just launched in the UK and come highly recommended from my US friends with wavy hair like mine!

HornchurchClaire · 05/07/2023 14:10

This thread is making me realise more things I need to buy 😂
Thanks OP!

Londontown12 · 05/07/2023 14:16

Mine wasn't an s&b buy - it was a shiny new shell pink bass, and I love it more than life itself!

Last s&b buy was probably a mac lipstick because I'm obsessed with them. Or some Adidas Trimm Trabs to wear to a Blur gig!
