Hi, I’m currently a size 18 and trying to lose weight and it is starting to work however I cannot find a pair of shorts that do not ride up when I walk or move, and then my thighs rub together and it is very sore to then move. I need to stay active to help with losing weight and would love some recommendations for some shorts that I can wear without the thigh rub and riding up, any recommendations gratefully received

Have you tried chub rub shorts? You can wear them under skirts/dresses/shorts/trousers and they should help chafing/riding up. A friend swears by them.

Otherwise, do you have a high waist/are you buying a size that gives you a long enough reach from waistband round the seat and back again? You might need to try a different size or style.

Do you mean for exercise or just out and about?

Shorts for both exercises and non exercise for wearing out and about on the school run etc

Are there any particular chub rub shorts you can recommend please?, also I think I may have a long body so perhaps that might make the riding up worse?, my bit size probably makes things worse as well, but am working on that at the moment

I've had Snag and Popsy chub rub. I prefer the Popsy ones (more comfortable) but always prefer Snag tights 🤷‍♀️

I have some outdoor shorts from Acai- they are high waisted and not too short. Good for walking/hiking or just around the house.

I’m a size 16 and I swear by hush shorts - both the denim and the chino. I’ve never had issues with them riding up and the dreaded chub run (although a good bit of stick deodorant also helps prevent that too)

I saw these online today, and they look like they could be a good style for what you need, but I have no idea of the size or fit at Benetton. They might ride up with crumpling, if they are too tight so if you go for this style, i would size up.

I found some great linen shorts last year from white stuff which don’t ride up at all because they are cut very loose on the thigh. The fabric is thick and heavy enough that they don’t move and when I walk (some linen is very thin and would ride up).
