Any ideas when they start?

Why not just sign up to the online mailing lists of shops you’re interested in? That way you’ll always be informed of each and every sale.

Trawling through thousands of promotional emails isn’t my idea of fun :) is it yours?

Fair point! But I like knowing what’s available to buy so it doesn’t really bother me. And the only way I’d be able to tell you when sales might happen is via online info sent by shop websites.

It used to be the case that we had Summer sales and January sales - simpler times. Now they seem to happen whenever a store /chain feels mortified at all their unsold stock. And I know of several stores that make bold opening offers of extortionate prices, knowing full well that after as little as two weeks they’ll be sending out the SALE! mailshots for the entire new collection. So the sale price is actually the price they always intended to sell a thing at, rather than a true reduction.

I know Matches and Net-a-Porter both have sales on at the moment - and The Outnet!

Sales seem very late this year.

No M&S as yet

It seems to vary more widely now, quite a few places I tend to shop are now onto the 20% extra off sale stuff stage whilst others haven't started yet. I have to say I don't buy anything full price now as there are so many sales!

I'm sure they were all in a June last year
