Mother if the bride

Evening. I’m looking for your help re mother of bride outfits. I work from home and have four dogs so I am always in leggings and jeans. I hardly go shopping but would love to wear a stylish dress for one day. I have googled MOB dresses for inspiration but I am not keen on the traditional outfits. I’m size 10 and open to any ideas. Thank you.

Phase Eight is very popular for MOB outfits. They are on the traditional side. But might be worth a look if you haven’t checked out their collection already.

I think you just need a lovely outfit that isn't specific to MoB. That's where you'll go wrong. What are your favourite shops?

I too think you should get something which isn’t traditionally MOTB. I’m similar to you in that I live in jeans and an mmm a size 10. I spent ages going to various MOTB shops and I hated every single dress I tried on. I just didn’t feel me! I don't do bright colours or patterns.
In the end I got a a navy lace dress from John Lewis with a matching lace jacket. It’s very understated, but beautiful because of the lace and felt fab on the day

@Aprilshowers23x Your best bet would be to choose somewhere that lets you book your item a few months in advance. While the point of renting is to get hold of something really current (and possibly far more expensive than one would want to buy) I imagine they must be inundated with requests for the best pieces during the Summer wedding season!

The fact that you googled MOB dresses, and are now seeking advice on S&B, does mean that unless you go rogue and rent something, you will inevitably end up with a Bombshell dress. Inevitably. Godspeed!

There are lots of lovely trouser suits around at all price points at the moment , look at Me and Em for example.
I don't think a traditional MOB greige coat dress or similar is needed so go to some department stores and try on lots of outfits until you find one you like/love.
