Moisturiser that doesn’t taste.. 😵‍💫

Can anyone recommend me a lovely rich day moisturiser that doesn’t have an awful taste. I use Caudalie night cream and it has no taste to it at all, but I don’t want to spend more than £20 on a day cream for dry skin. I’m currently using the Superdrug Optimum Collagen one but it tastes awful if I lick my lips and manage to get some in my mouth!

or is it just me… 🤷🏻‍♀️

Simple Rich Moisturiser?

Dontsayyouloveme · 01/06/2023 17:52

Is it rich though, I find the cheap end ones to be quite watery.?

I'm using ganier vitamin c serum & moisturiser combined, can't say I have ever tasted it??

Maybe I’ve got a tongue like a donkey then! 🤣

wipe your lips after applying moisturiser and pop on some lip balm
(or look into eczema creams or nivea creme)

TheShellBeach · 01/06/2023 19:28

Astral.
Joanna Lumley uses it.
So do I and people are always telling me I have lovely skin.

LookItsMeAgain · 01/06/2023 19:50

Why are you applying moisturiser to your lips when there's Vaseline or other balms for your lips (you could use nipple cream on your lips if you wanted to)?

I don't apply moisturiser to my lips and I don't lick my lips in such a way that I'll pick up a random bit of moisturiser that might be around my mouth.

Make sure you have rubbed it in fully

I’ve never tasted my moisturiser. You’re doing it wrong!

Actually, neither have I.

My sympathy - I can't stand scented products on my face where I can smell them all the time, is it possibly the scent you don't like?
I use Vichy Nutrilogie moisturiser, which is lovely and rich and comes in two levels, 1 and 2. I mostly use 2 [I have very dry skin] No SPF though.
At night I have the Cetaphil rich night cream.
Both of these are unperfumed and in the spirit of curiosity I just ran upstairs to taste them, although now I wish I hadn't 😂

Shopper727 · 01/06/2023 20:05

I have 2 lovely Estée Lauder ones and can’t say I’ve ever put them on my lips, I use balm for lips so you can use balm and avoid your mouth and you can use anything you want?…
I also avoid round my eyes and use separate eye cream as I have sensitive eyes

WhereAreWeNow · 01/06/2023 20:39

I don't get moisturiser in my mouth! I don't apply in to my lips and I don't think I generally lick my lips. Can you use lip balm on your lips instead?

HappiDaze · 01/06/2023 21:18

Just you OP

I think you might need to apply it differently ie not on your lips but around them

cocunut · 01/06/2023 22:48

Why are you eating it 😂😂😂

Dontsayyouloveme · 02/06/2023 05:28

🤦🏻‍♀️ yeah I need to apply it more carefully then. I don’t apply it to my lips but I must get too close to them that sometimes I can taste it if I lick my lips 👅.

I thought it was just me tbh 😂

Why are you always licking your lips?

bryceQ · 02/06/2023 08:21

Why don't you just wipe your lips after with a flannel and put lip balm on?

Readingisgoodforyou · 02/06/2023 08:57

This has made me giggle. I've never once tasted moisturiser in all the years I've applied it Grin

Dontsayyouloveme · 02/06/2023 08:58

I do it when I’m tense! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I like the one for exactly that reason. I hate being able to taste my moisturiser. 😂

It might not be rich enough, but I use child's farm moisturiser which is for kids. It's turned my skin around. I had awful spots from dryness, but since using this twice a day my skin is clear. It doesn't smell or taste of anything, it's cheap and soaks in well. I also like the rose face cream by fresh.
