Eye lid strips

I'm being bombarded with adverts for these apparently invisible strips for hooded eyes. They look like you put them on,blink and hey presto, no droopy lids.

Has anyone tried them and do they work?

Ive got some actually but i cant work out how to do it properly.

Ohfgsjon · 31/05/2023 21:12

Yes they work a treat. I honestly don't understand how people struggle to use them. They're literally fool proof and take no longer than 10 seconds to apply. Get a strip ready, shut your eye, look in a mirror and place the strip on to the crease of your lid. Press it down and that's it done.

Oh good! Do you have a certain brand you buy?

Literally any off eBay or Amazon.

TourmalineGiraffe · 31/05/2023 21:32

@Ohfgsjon
Have been watching in horror as my upper eyelids seem to be melting down my face.

Have looked at these but reviews have said they stretch the lids when taking off and can make it all worse and that make up can’t be applied over them.
Do you use them every day? Have you noticed and stretch?! Can you apply make up over?
Thank you!

WednesdaysPlaits · 31/05/2023 21:34

I have some but you can see them so I’m not keen

I've had upper bleph surgery, so I don't use them any more. They go over make up. Theyre transparent, so do your makeup first and then just wack em on. Never really concerned me about them stretching the skin. I just held my skin and pulled them off. They're not like superglue strength sticky and peel off easily. They're not perfect and only really stay put for a few hours but it was nice to immediately have an eye lift every now and then!

I use them almost daily, easy to apply and make a huge difference. Don’t see any stretching or pulling on the skin at all. In fact I feel eyeshadow is more drying and damaging to the skin than the strips are. Got a 2 pack off Amazon for about £7 and those last me for about a year or so. Give them a go

Sobekneferu · 31/05/2023 22:23

i think you are supposed to use them on clean dry eyelids, not over makeup. I’ve tried over makeup and they move almost within an hour but directly on the skin I’ve had them stay on overnight. Now I put my makeup on top of the strips

Do you use the double sided ones? There's load on Amazon but not many with good reviews

Oh really? I'm not sure how that would work though. Make up just wouldn't 'grab' on to the strip would it. Anyway, they're as cheap as chips, so you could try both ways and see which works.

TourmalineGiraffe · 01/06/2023 15:58

@Ohfgsjon thank you!

Muncha · 01/06/2023 16:23

Lots of the Amazon ones get 2* reviews and most of them seem fake. Has anyone bought good ones recently?

theyoungishman · 01/06/2023 16:58

I've got extremely hooded eyes and bought some to try but they were very obvious (you could see the shiny plastic visible) and you can't put make up over them ... so it's a no from me 😕

blackfluffydog · 01/06/2023 17:01

Has anyone got a link to any they've tried and are happy with please?

How can they be fake? They're literally just tiny little strips of sticky back plastic.

BQ91 · 01/06/2023 21:57

I used them but I wear a brown eyeshadow over them and I found it looked quite noticeable. They were invisible if I didn’t wear any make up but just couldn’t wear any foundation or eyeshadow as you could then see the tape. Would be interesting to hear people’s recommendations.

BQ91 · 01/06/2023 22:01

I’m only 31 and they’ve always been hooded, dreading what they will look like in a few years time. I read something about eyelid glue somewhere wonder if that’s any good.

Muncha · 02/06/2023 12:31

@Ohfgsjon the reviews seem fake not the strips.

GloriaHotcakes · 03/06/2023 08:48

Has anyone bought these recently and can share a link to ones that stick and are invisible? Thanks
