Can I ask what your routine is?

I have changed mine in the last year. I’m 52. I was using the Clarins double serum but it’s expensive and I saw no real difference.

I am now using hyaluronic acid and a vitamin c serum twice a day after cleansing. Definitely a change, for the good in my skin. It looks brighter. I am also using a neck cream. Well, I have used that for a few years now.

I can’t take HRT so I am taking menopace and a tablet for my gut health every day. I am considering adding collagen too but still researching that.

I am not trying to beat ageing but just trying a few things to make me feel good and not haggard!

I’ve just realised this is in chat. Going to ask HQ to move it over to style and beauty.

I use only Tretinoin and an ordinary moisturiser ( currently Olay) plus Simple face wash, and I am very happy with my skin at 51. See no need for anything else. Total skin care budget: Less than £20 a year ( because I get my tret overseas).

Girlintheframe · 31/05/2023 08:22

Day to day after cleaning 2 xs daily I use

Acid toner
Vit C
Hylauronic acid
Eye cream and moisturizer
Spf

I also add in 1-2 xs a a week an acid exfoliator. Just got the medik 8 glycolic sleep mask to try.

Also change my moisturizer depending on the time of the year.

I'm the same age as you and recently had a skin analysis done which showed no issues and good quality skin though I suspect that's mostly genetic.

Skin+me prescription so it's Tretinoin, Niacinamide and Adelaide Acid (sounds painful but isn't - it's just a daily cream) plus marine collagen supplement pills. I'm 52.

sawandnotseen · 31/05/2023 08:43

I am on HRT too

JustAnotherDayInNorfolk · 31/05/2023 09:05

I'm 53. Liz Earle cleanse and polish in the morning. I then use No7 protect and perfect intense eye cream, serum and day moisturiser each morning.
I have just purchased the No7 future renew serum and moisturiser so will see how that goes.

Yes agree the only skincare that will work is one that can penetrate the skin barrier.
Yes retinol works , but you need the one that is by prescription for it to really work.
try Dermatica. You get sent it monthly (and can skip or cancel at any time.)
I've set mine to receive every 6 weeks as I find it's enough for that time.
it will cost less than £3 for the first month then 25% off for the 2nd. Using my code will give me £5 my next month.
